Yaa Gyasi is such a talented writer. Homegoing was fantastic, and while Transcendent Kingdom didn’t quite meet the expectations I set after reading Homegoing, it was still a great book.

I can’t wait for whatever she writes next.

I read the first hundred pages and seriously thought of stopping. I couldn't get into it. All the characters annoyed me.

Then I read the last 250 pages. What a heartwarming, pleasant book. It's about love and forgiveness and loss and second chances and happy endings. And a bank-robbing and hostage situation of course.
