I liked a lot of this book. I didn’t think it was as good as Malice, mainly because I had a hard time connecting with Alyce/Nimara, but it had a good ending and once again the world building was vast and interesting.

This was a really pretty story, I found myself wanting more during the first half of the book, but there was enough there during the second half to bump this up to a 3.5 star read. I thought the individual stories of Sara and Emilie were well written, and I enjoyed their romance at the end.

It took a bit to really understand what was going on, but that might be because I don’t often read sci-fi/fantasy. But I’m glad I was patient because the book got really exciting towards the second half and I liked Harrow and Gideon!

Also, that ending was RUDE.
