This is a classic fantasy with lots of likeable characters although some of the small roles are exceptionally two dimensional. If you like Avatar: the Last Airbender or Mulan, there are some familiarities although this book is steeped in mythology in a different way. Honestly such a comforting read. I was invested. I had a favoured outcome. Dragons. Would add to my enjoyable books to re-read pile.
informative medium-paced

This is a really useful book but I disliked the tone in several places and the author refers to all dogs as “he”

This is a book all about feelings, getting lost, and feeling lonely. It’s very beautiful and the art style is INCREDIBLE

This book speaks so profoundly about how we demand change when we are frightened. It’s a brilliant book about the power of organising and of community.

I had no idea this book existed and it has some of the most beautiful thoughts in it. The edition can feel a little eclectic because we pivot from gardening to Wikileaks to Israel to how great it is to have a dog. But it was honestly a pleasure to alongside Walker’s cushion a while.

This is a really interesting and accessible book. Sadly, (for me in the U.K.) it is entirely focused on the US. There’s lots of transfer but for things like indigenous planting, it wasn’t quite what I needed. Definitely recommend but be aware of the geographic context as I missed that when purchasing.
