[arc, expected release date: March 18, 2025] • unfortunately this one wasn't for me, dnfed it at 22% • I didn't enjoy the whole magical realism from the very beginning, but thought "ok, I'll give it a try". the book got me interested, because I so wanted to know why Maya didn't remember meeting (and having the best sex of her life, apparently) Liam. when the reason was explained around 22%, I just rolled my eyes • sorry, not for me, but you will enjoy it if you like elements of magic realism in your romance books •

Idk, maybe it's a classic case of "it's not you, it's me". First quarter of the book was really interesting, it hooked me right in, but then,

at about 35%, when Nick wanted to tell Olive who he really was, and of course he decided against it, and of course you knew that later on she would eventually find it out, and she would feel angry & betrayed, but would end up with him anyway - that's when I lost interest.

Talia was ok, but Foster couldn't take no for an answer. Another macho/alpha-male bullshit that's supposed to be romantic.

I don't really care about main characters.
I love this series, well up until #4 - which, actually, was my favourite (Juliana & Nolan's story). Then came #5, and I don't really remember what it was about. And now #6, dnf. What a downfall.

I just don't care.

So far so predictable. I didn't care about any of the characters, and Jude was annoying as all hell.

It might be a case of "It's not you, it's me". I love Catherine Cowles' books, but this one didn't pique my interest. Calder & Hadley? Somehow I couldn't picture them together.
