This was perfect. It's a grounded story of two people finding each other at the right time with healthy communication and mutual respect. Also sexy type composing, be still my printmaking heart.

Audiobook is excellent, I inhaled this.

Heroine continues to get dickmatised but the heroes are also getting pussafied? Good progression from the first book, reading on to the last book!

The beginning was rough going but I'm glad I stuck it out because it was beautiful, with all the side characters and their stories, the found family and friendship was very much as much the central focus as the romance. Made me tear up.

Audiobook was excellent.

I devoured this in one day, it was hot and so sweet. Best Daisy Jane hero to date? I mean they're all great but this one makes homemade sauce, goes to therapy, mourns his wife and tries to be a good dad to a teenage girl. Plus good dicking and excellent impact play toys.

I read this for the being knotted by a pilot in the cockpit plot and it delivered plus two more alpha knots. Excellent, it's sweet and hilarious with fluffy alphas.

The audiobook really worked in its favour here. It's a quintessential British book, all the brands and references and the old people, all felt so gentle and cosy even if it is about murder. I'm not a big fan of brand name drops or modern day references but it worked in this place and time.

Thanks to Zoey Draven for the review copy and this is my honest review.

Okay first of all, I've read alllll of Zoey Draven's backlist and the fact I even got an arc was mind-blowing. I will say pregnancy trope isn't my favourite and I needed the angst to offset it.

But a trope I really do like is when a main character stumbles upon the other main character mid-boning someone else. Show them what they're all about and create tension. The heroine has been infatuated with the hero because he's big and strong, with a hot scar on his face. Who is she but a lowly keeper in his house and happens to be his blood mate?!

Most of the book dealt with the hero pushing the heroine away but wanting to keep her near him at the same time. Make up your mind, kylorr!! So he did the sensible thing to ask her to be his mistress. Mistress, blood giver, basically the same thing. The heroine is naive and caring, dealing with blow after blow and eventually coming into her own. The hero's grovelling was worthy in my book.

The heroine forgave them too quickly, she's too dickmatised.
