kieran was deeply problematic and wildly unlikable. blake victimized himself after committing the ultimate betrayal to his, granted headstrong and inconsiderate, boyfriend. and then you just wrapped it up in a little bow like it’s fine? kieran really was the bad guy the whole time except you’re just gonna exonerate blake for being homophobic to kieran? letting kieran get bullied incessantly? STALKING kieran???? eeeeugh
80 percent fbi work, 10 percent depression and survivor’s guilt, 10 percent romance. what a shit recipe for a cocktail. also why did everyone have so many names??? “jamie jameson whiskey walker” and ai aiden irish talley” like christ man.
fuck yeah that was fun lmfao. NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE like the description sort of suggests it would be but that’s fine by meeeeee

the magic recall the king can do that would make her tear her own arm off to come back thing that was mentioned and not touched on was the coolest shit can i have a novel just about that
how do you write a review for a book that is clearly a footnote in a bigger picture? how can you make an opinion so concise when you only have a third of the knowledge you need? i’ve read a ton of first books in trilogies where i never read the rest. they felt concise; finished stories in an anthology of the lives the the characters inside it. this wasn’t that. this was little more than an introduction to this world at large. how could i read this and glean anything without finishing the series?
kaden victim blamed her. we are actively letting incestuous thoughts happen. the threat rape was used as a plot line for several chapters.
Fluff and intimacy in my orc porn? It’s more likely than you think! It’s short and sweet and ends on a cliff hanger to entice you to read the next one and honestly why not?
If you don’t like the middle books in a book series then you’re not gonna like this one. but that’s a you problem and I’m just built different. Not the most exciting read but the whining and the petulant homesickness was exactly my cup of tea.
