While this book was interesting, it kinda got old quick. It did make me look at some books in a different light, and I like the list of modern counterparts to classical heroines, but some of the books here I hadn't heard of. My to read list is certainly longer now.
Great resource for new teachers.
I really enjoyed this. Magic, pirates, conspiracy, what's not to like? Kestrel's a great character, determined and loyal and tough as nails to gain the respect of her pirate crew. The world Massey built here is also really interesting, I'd love to explore it more.
I havn't read a book like this in a while, the one where you start reading and before you notice you're on chapter six. Or you mean to make a mess in the kitchen but you look up from reading at the clock and decide it might be better to just hit the store instead.
I didn't find this book particularly cleaver or anything, but it certainly captured my attention and held it through out. How Zoe interacts with the other characters is interesting to read, and I can't help but wonder what in the world made her and Anya friends. But at least she seems to be opening up to a broader understanding of people as well as learning how to change the world through magic.

I good book in that you had to think to puzzle out what was true and what wasn't. Was disappointed by the ending, there were so many questions that I didn't have answers too, but this is part of a series so that's understandable.
Man, I have never come across a more complicated characters than those her. Plus this world is amazing, there are glimpses of other parts to give the reader an understanding this story is just one of many and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.
I love love love this series. While the focus is on football, its obvious other elements of the world are important and the world is fabulous.
This might be my favorite in this series, simply because of all the growing Quentin does as a person. I've always found the off field action as interesting as the on field action and its nice to see Quentin start to bridge those worlds.
