Good book, except for the end. What is it with all these authors of 'literaire thrillers' that they never seem to know how to end a book in a good way? Or it is me?
A funny book about how Dutch people use their language. Or mis-use it. Why do people say certain things and why do they say it in that specific way?
I finished it in an afternoon.
After reading 3 quarters of the book it became more of the same.

When I first started reading, I wasn't sure whether I was going to like the book or not. It's playing in the 16th century and usually I don't really like these kind of books.
But this one was different.
I really enjoyed it!
I learned a lot about this part of Dutch history by reading this book.
The story is 'told' by two different people: we read how Willem van Oranje is experiencing the war with Spain and we read Lideweij's and later Isabella's story.
Simone van der Vlugt could have done a better job when it comes to the end. That was a little too simple and easy in my eyes.
