I do not understand how a protagonist can be written as clever and scheming and then fall for the things she does. Maybe it is a case of "well she is a teenager" or something else. But it really break any belief I have in the protagonists ability to handle the world she lives in. 

Other then that making a few plot points messy and strange to me, the book was overalls fun and good. A solid continuation of the series. I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

There were some unexpected redemption ark(s) and surprising ways of getting rid of certain problems. But the whole love triangle component was let fade to the background of Cass's literary of important things to focus on/get through. The ending was surprisingly simple and satisfying for a series like this. Enjoyed the read.

The main character is refreshingly not the same as the first 3 books. That said she is very tumbler era #girlboss. Gave me an unintended reason to chuckle every once in awhile. Maintains this series being a fun read, even one of the main themes of book 1-3 was forgotten in the effort to give this main character some additional unneeded struggles with who she is.
