A pleasant and interesting audiobook reading experience. There was a passion to it. 

I cannot with the way the warrior women being shown in little tiny metal bikinis and heels. Just no. The writing is intriguing. But I cannot read further. 

I cannot with some of these narrators. I think I could be enjoying this more if it was an ebook. I'm going to get it that way. 

Ebook went back to the library. I'm dnfing this edition in favor of reading it physically. 

I didn't love the story this told, but it was very real, open and honest of the author. I wish they could have ended with a complete acceptance of themselves and who they are... which I get isn't always how life works. But I feel like maybe if they had given it 10 more years before writing this they could have more insights and conclusion to offer and perhaps a bit more transparency with less defensiveness. I get it, but it was just hard to read and left me feeling like there wasn't much to take away from the experience. 

It is just... fun! The back and forth between the characters... the crush... the green manga style. Very fun!

I think this would have hit really hard if I had read it as a teen. As is, it felt important and good to have out there. 

I really love Gaby from her YouTube presence. I think this was a fun, lighthearted insight into what has led her to where she was at the time of writing. I could have used a bit more of a message... but sometimes joy is a message enough and that was carried through the book. It was short and worthwhile feeling though I am sure this will not stick in my consciousness in the same way some of the others in this series will. 

I don't know a lot about skating. The intermixing of the authors feelings and insights regarding gender identify and their professional experience as a skateboarder was really neat to see and I appreciated the glimpse into something I've never really had reason to consider. 

A very solid entry into a fantasy series. The world, characters, and plot were very fun and grabbed me fully. I did feel a certain quality of the writing feels YA at times, which clashed for me with some of the very series moments and world building. But overall very much enjoyed it.
