A deeply thoughtful, intelligent and enlightening perspective from a former slave and true promoter of freedom. His speeches always felt beautiful and passionate. His writing is just as much so.

This book was absolutely delightful. It was clever, intriguing, had a vivid landscape/setting and the characters were crafted well so you actually cared. It was a slim enough novel that all the humor had the right amount of punch and I really just was pleasantly surprised at how fun of a read it was.

As always love it. This read through I caught on more to the whole idea that we cannot face divinity and others until we take the time to reflect on ourselves and truly see our own flaws and the results of our own endeavors. Doing things out of the idea of your own faith and your own feelings doesn't make something what it is. How others are affected also makes something what it is. Even if you mean love, if your love is painful then can it really be love or a good thing? It all depends.

I get something different out of this book each time I re-read. A solid C.S.Lewis work that really exemplifies the bigger considerations and searching he was capable of when it came to spirituality and the connection between the divinity and the mortal.

A wonderful 2nd to Rose In Bloom!

Man oh, man. I love this series. re-reading it with my parents and it is just so gripping. I forgot how much the last 100 pages makes you want to not even glimpse away. Sanderson really nailed how to end book 2 of a trilogy with this one. A second read also just gives so much overall to think about and to reconsider. Sanderson's way of really thinking through his plot and characters makes it so that a re-read feels very rewarding. Just love it.

This book was refreshing, intriguing, and fun in its world-building, plot, characters, and writing style. I really enjoyed this book and definitely want to get my hands on the following books. I would have read this much quicker if it wasn't an ebook on my phone. But I'm glad I stumbled across it and I have learned that ebook reading is going to be much easier on an iPad for me, in the future.
