Excellent. I love this series so much. 

Highly enjoyable. Loved the lore of all the songs from the trilogy. Snow is putrid, disgusting. I think this was good character development for him. I wish Lucy Gray had been a little more developed, and that their bond was flushed out - it was really shallow. But maybe that was the point? 

I have literally so many thoughts about this book lol I need to digest.

i liked the format of this a lot. it felt like it slowed down a bit too much in the middle (almost lost me a bit) but the ending was fantastic. what a devastating book. 

i liked this a lot. i think i need to reflect a little more on some of the aspects of the story like the hyperempathy, and the connections between earthseed and existing religions, and how the events in the novel represent real life things. i think i got it on a surface level, but i sprinted through this (read it in almost one sitting, and then waited a week before finishing it) where i don't think i was able to grasp all that i could. i am also intrigued by the second novel and may find myself moseying over that way sometime this year. very happy to have finally gotten around to reading this!

i think this was 5 stars but i think i need to think about it a little more. damn! wow. 

okay i've thought about it more and it's a five star. i've never read something where i'm so impressed by form. machado has this unbelievable mastery of this strange and unique way of weaving together fragments, glimpses, sketches. all this while having this mosaic of instances and moments mimic, imitate, and exemplify this abusive relationship. i was floored, am floored. i am so grateful to have read this. hannah wanted credit so here it is. thank you hannah.

I liked this and I liked its mystique but the ending was incredibly underwhelming because I had no idea what was going on. Is it meant to be interpretive or did I miss something??? A lot to take in. I also found some of the language surrounding the people in the park uncomfortable and outdated and unnecessary. Overall enjoyable, I liked understanding the geography. 

absolutely hated the character of Art and found the first half took way too long. rest of the book was excellent. i think if the perspectives had been more interspersed it might have kept the pace up a little more. overall enjoyed this quite a bit.
