Not my favourite of hers, but every bit as gripping as the previous two.

And as is becoming the norm with Shari Lapena books, I read it in more or less one sitting and stayed up until the early hours reading it!

My mother in law picked this one up for me for Christmas after Laura being at a book signing at a local garden centre.

I'm not really one for reading "boy meets girl" romance novels anymore. I find them all a bit samey so I didn't go in with huge expectations.

But wow, was I wrong! I LOVED this book. It was easy to read without being a chick lit cliché. I loved the character development as well. Ellie was so relatable and easy to warm to. I could feel her upset, anger, confusion and happiness throughout the book. The whole book was fun and so warm.

I loved this. If you want a nice easy read that's a chick lit with a bit of a difference, this is well worth it!

TAKE NOTE: This book does not make you a practitioner. As highlighted by Lange in the content - you need an attunement from a Reiki Master for that.

However, as someone who has recently gone through Reiki Two a month ago and got well excited with my "magic healing hands" it was good to just ground me. It was interesting to see additional techniques and exercises that you can use Reiki for and has been useful to pick up in my wobbles. When I'm talking about wobbles, I'm referring to the disbelief you have that something so beautiful is something that you can now do.

This book is great to keep you humble and ground you, or if you're considering Reiki but maybe want a bit more info before taking the step 🙏💫
