Me: wow I'm really loving this book it's incredible 

My brain: *chanting* reading slump, reading slump, reading slump! 

I went into this book really not knowing much about it, as always, it was a cover buy for me and I'm a massive alice in wonderland need so I had to have it when I saw it! Safe to say I was not disappointed!! 
This book is so dark and gory and just great in so many ways. The plot was super interesting, and a really unique take on the Alice story, I've never really read anything like this before I don't think. The writing style was one I really connected with and got into easily and how all the pieces of the story fit together was just so good!!

My actual rating is a 4.5/5, due to my reading slump just killing my pace finishing this book and kinda making the ending feel like a chore (worth it though!)
I flew through the first 2/3 of this book in a day or 2, not being able to put it down, taking it everywhere with me. It was just so intriguing and really my kinda book tbh. 

I really wanna read everything Christina Henry puts out, I really hope her other retellings are just as good as this one. (I wanna get to Red Queen so sooooon ((though I always say that and it takes a while hahaha)) I wanna buy it next!)

I know I'd adore this book as much as the rest of the series if I read the entire thing but I'm in a weird slump where I started it properly then skim read the rest. 

Idk why I'm not reading!! I'll read this properly eventually but I'll have to wait till I don't know what happens lmao.

I literally bought this second hand on eBay for £2 just because I found out there's like 2 chapters of Strange Fate in the back 😂 

Loweky made me want to read it more but it's never coming out so I guess this'll have to do...3 stars because I'm bitter

Idk if I was just insane in 2018 or heading into a reading slump but 5* for this! I’m so glad I was encouraged to pick it back up again!! I really don’t know why I didn’t like it last time because it was just ugh so good this time??

 I missed these characters so much and this was such a good way to get back into the world, the dynamics and the relationships!!

I just really can not be bothered to finish this. I don't think it matters if I do or not anyway. I was so bored!! 

I adored the main series and really didn't think that this novella was all that necessary. I may try to finish it in the future just to know if there is actually any plotline/ pick up in the story of it. I love Feysand, and the inner court, I really do...but this just isn't a book that was at all needed. 
Also the switching of POV's was okay at first, I can usually deal with 2 maximum 3, but then it was like every character...it was just a bit jarring at times (and the constant POV changes were what made me inherently despise TOG, and I really hope it doesn't carry over to any future books 

That was so incredible! I think this is my favourite book of the year so far...

I don't think I've read a book this year that I've loved as much as this one. It was such a roller coaster of a ride, especially nearer the last half of the book (the amount of plot twists I just...oh my God.) This was honestly genius, there were so many twists I really wasn't expecting and everything was so well thought out, I think I'm in love with Stephanie Garber! 

I really loved Scarlet and Julian through the entire book (though Julian did give me some scares 0.0) and I ship them so much and Tella(!!), the absolute legend (lmao), I also adored...I just can't even with how amazed I am at this book. 

I wasn't expecting to like it even half as much as I did, though I did have high hopes, which were absolutely smashed. The plot, the world, the characters, everything as incredible and I really can't recommend it enough! I still can't believe it's a debut novel. I really hope book 2 is as spectacular as this one was, especially with how it left off! 

(I think this is my most praisey book review lmao bur I literally just finished it 2 minutes ago and I'm still not over the twists!)

The first book in this bind up I enjoyed, but the second one not so much. Idk why, maybe because it took a while to get anywhere (atleast 1/4 of the book ugh) but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the other 3 I've read. 

I listened to the audiobook for the last half, which was nice, definitely made me push through it quicker.  

I'm glad the storyline is completely different than what I know now, but I'm not sure I'm gonna continue, thinking where it's going with it.

I don't know why this took me a month to read, it didn't feel that long, I guess it was because of classes...but I really enjoyed these 2 books! I'm familiar with the characters and the general storyline (Atleast from book 1) from watching a little of the show, but it's so different in the book omg. 

Book 2 was probably my favorite one (maybe even a 4*) just because of the ending! I wasn't expecting it, till maybe a chapter before where I was like "Hmmmm maybe....", I can't wait to see what happens next. I really gotta pick up the next bind up and read more of it, I can't believe LJ Smith went there so early on in the series! (I also really want to find out more about Katherine, so I hope we get that too because I'm a sucker for the flashback scenes!) 

I also can't believe I haven't picked these up sooner, just because I really like Smith's writing style (though I know the later books aren't written by her :')). Because this was a first time read for one of my favourite authors I actually sticky noted the entire book with my opinions and predictions. That might even be the reason I found this book kinda kept me from a complete slump, because it was so fun to sticky note! 

My current favourite brother as of these books is Stefan...so we'll see how that goes through the series...

This. Was. So. Good!!

I went into this with pretty high expectations and I definitely wasn't disappointed, it was an easy 5*'s! (Though my only complaint was the ending was a littleeee lacking, but I can live with it because overall it was incredible)

The world and the characters are amazing and the storyline is so compelling! I had to force myself to slow down and not read it all in a day because I had stuff to do...but if I could have I would have read it all straight away! I always loved mermaids and sirens and ~oceanny stuff~ and this was a really good take on all of that, Lira is such a great character and I love Elian so much. 

I could easily read a few more books in this world and I really hope this gets a sequel (Though I have no idea what it'd be about because this wrapped up pretty well...^^) 

But honestly this might be the best book I've read so far this year, and I really can't believe it's a debut! I'll definitely be reading all the books Christo puts out, her storytelling is so good! 

Anyone who has this on their TBR, read it ASAP!! I need to get myself a physical copy!

I usually have a habit of not finishing trilogys...just because I never want them to end. But this is one of the few where I just wanted to read about the characters so bad I had to read it! It did take me a while because I wanted to take my time with it and not rush the entire book in a day (which I could have easily done...) 

This series has been on my tbr for a solid 5 years maybe(?) and I really regret not reading it sooner.  I went into it thinking eh I'm probably not gonna like this but it was just so incredible. 

The final book was so fast paced, especially near the end, and I just loved every page. The ending was amazing (though it left a few things open I'm hoping are addressed in Sinner) and I couldn't've asked for a better ending. It just felt really rounded to me like we came full circle in a way and it was just great (I did cry a little though js :')) 

Maggie's writing is just incredible, this is the first series I've read from her and it's definitely won't be the last, I'm pretty sure I want to read everything she's ever written. I haven't had a connection to characters like I did with Sam and Grace (and Cole and Isabel) in a while and it was so nice to love characters so much that it made me urgent to read again! 

Anyway 5/5 for the entire series, it was amazing I totally recommend it. I wonder how many more good series I have sitting on my shelves unread...

Oh my God...I have no words this was amazing! The ending had me freaking out it was so tense, ahhh I'm so scared for book 3.  

The story was so good, usually 2nd books in series are all boring, but I kept reading and reading waiting to see what happened. The plot builds so well and I absolutely loved Cole! His character is amazing and I loved his POV chapters. 

Honestly these books the different POVs work so well, like you can really tell who you're reading from and they all work so good within the story! I'm usually not a fan when there's more than 2 POVs but 4 actually worked so great, I'm so falling in love with Maggie's writing. 

This was almost a 5 star again like the first book but there was just a bit of unneeded romance that I could live without so yeah /-\ It was great though! I need everyone to read this series like rn...I'm gonna go start book 3...
