I have tear stains in my copy of this book now...I’m...wow

When I say I wasn’t expecting that ending, oh my god p a i n. This book was such a journey, I loved every single page of it! August and Kate, Ilsa, so many good characters! I honestly just love so much and that ending literally wrecked me. There’s just so much I loved about this book, this duology, I’m really glad I got round to reading it I think it’s one of my favourite series of all time now! The characters are so well done, the world building is amazing, the monsters just!

I honestly just don’t know what to say, short review bc I’m just shook and don’t know how to process that at all, I’m trying to recover from...that...*cries*

Really a 4.5 like the last one!

I really enjoyed this book!! This series is honestly such a fun one, I enjoyed the whole gang being in this one (my baby Simon ahhhhh.) I don’t really have too much to say about this except it was action packed, really fun, I loved the moments with Max and tHAT THE EPILOGUE WAS OMG! Next book now please!! I’m excited!

Also special shout out to the bonus Jem and Tessa story at the end my heartttttttt

I rated this a 4.5 just because even when things are really exciting and suspenseful my mind always remembers it’s an in between series and we already know the characters will be fine so there’s not really any stakes. It’s a fun adventure though even though there’s no consequences!

This!!!! I’ve been putting off reading this book for quite a while tbh, probably since I read the last one and I just got to it. AND IM SO MAD I DIDN’T SOONER!!

It was just so good, so well written, so interesting!! I really enjoyed reading Felicity’s adventure and how she grew through the journey! Along with the lil Monty x Percy parts being wonderful, I also really loved Johanna and Sim a lot and I just think all the female characters in this book are so strong and amazing and I just really enjoyed reading about them all. The rep in this series is always just immaculate and I love reading about such a time period in a more modern light!

I’m convinced that Christina Henry has some kind of magical powers, all her books are just so incredible???

This took me less than 24 hours to read, it was so good!! The way the author thinks up these stories?? Legendary behaviour! They’re always something I could never think up myself but when she tells them it feels like it’s always been that way and it’s right and how it should be, it’s just wow.

Again I can’t fault this book, it was gripping, really unique, and really wonderfully written. I love Jamie sm, poor boy. I always get so attached to these versions of the characters ugh

Anyway...go read all these books please I beg!!

(Can I just say, I’ve never appreciated Emmet more, he’s such a himbo and I love him a lot)

I can’t lie...I did really enjoy the nostalgia of this book. If I could give it a 3.5 I’m sure that would be my rating but since good reads doesn’t give half stars I’ll round up to 4.
I remember reading the leak of this when I was maybe 12 or 13 years old...it’s been a long ass time since then but this honestly hit probably just as hard as it would have back 8 years or so ago. I did like this book a lot, whether that be just from nostalgia I can’t say, but it was interesting to dive into Edward’s head and see his perspective of things, even if he does just talk and talk and talk. (Bloody hell is the book L O N G.)

One thing I absolutely adored about how this book was told was the use of Alice’s visions to push the story along, using them to tell large parts of the story that would have otherwise been boring if shown in minute detail and making them fun and interesting. It was really cleaver and really well done. I’ve always loved Alice as a character anyway but this was just *chefs kiss* to basically see in her head too.

I haven’t read Twilight in years but I’m fairly sure some of the scenes or atleast the order involving Bella was new?? Or just fixed? I’m not sure but I enjoyed this book more than I remember enjoying Twilight tbh. My one biggest complaint though is just how long the book is!! Condense pls condense!! It went fast but it was still a chore to read sometimes, especially with the main interesting plot not happening till maybe the last 1/4. It is a really heavy filler book and eventho I did like it, it just felt so dense at some points omg.

Anyway points for the nostalgia and throwing me back to my early teens!! I do still enjoy these characters and their back stories (pls god do the bloody Cullen back stories as a series that’d be an instant 5*, they’re so cool) and well I had a fun week reading this despite some cringe :’)

Okay so...I read the first 20/25% of this fully then just skimmed the rest. I’m honestly really disappointed, I was predicting that I’d like this book bc of all the hype and the plot just sounds magical...but alas...

I can’t really think of much I liked in this book, the idea was good, the plot sounds good...but it just wasn’t executed in a way I enjoyed. I was just soooo bored of the 1/4 I read, I think Erin Morgernstern isn’t really for me. I didn’t like the ”Starless Sea” like at all and was hoping this would redeem her for me but sadly its the same result. Maybe in the future if she releases another book I’ll give it a go and see but for now I just can’t get on with her writing. The writing was really over the top for me and too lyrical but at the same time I was so bored by what was happening. I had the same kinda issue in her other book, it just didn’t work for me.

Atleast the edition I have is absolutely gorgeous and will look nice on my shelf :’)

I can say I didn’t like this book as much as the first. I don’t know exactly why but I feel it’s due to the book taking so long to get going! I also struggled a bit to remember the previous books events which made the task of understanding some plot elements a bit harder, which may have decreased the rating a bit (my own fault that).

Thomas was delightful I really like this character, Audrey however...I have mixed feelings. She really does spend sooo much time complaining about how she’s perceived and thinking about how “against society” she’s being. We really don’t need the constant remainder honestly! It got a bit repetitive and I was getting a bit bored of her dialogue at some points, so much complaining. She is lovely in other aspects though and I can’t say I hate her! The romance was cute in this book and is something I’ll be looking forward to seeing develop in later books. One thing about Audrey though...stop bloody complaining about your corset girl!! Stop!!

The writing of these books, despite me getting a little lost at times, is impeccable. The research and such that goes into these books must take so so long, they’re so well written in the historical aspects and they’re really informative and quite educational. I enjoyed all the historical and medical aspects of the story and how to my knowledge accurate to the time period they were! The writing good, the pacing a bit sketchy at times is what brings this down from a 4 for me. Alas, I did enjoy myself and I did read it within 24 hours!

I’ve had mixed luck with V. E Schwab books over the years but THIS...THIS!!! WAS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! THIS IS GOING STRAIGHT IN MY FAVOURITES SHELF

This was such a cool concept for a book! I really loved the world building in it and our 2 MC’s Kate and August (August my precious baby I love him so much), this whole book was just marvellous! It was really hard to put down! I kept wanting to read more and more and settled for a whole section a night to slow myself down. At first I was a little unsure but after the first 2 chapters or so I was hooked, it was so good!!

Learning about the different kinds of monsters and the world structure was super interesting. I lovedddd the plot just so much and the little hints of romance (I’m really glad there wasn’t a full on romance plot to this book and it kept focused on character development and the ongoing story instead of taking a side route) just made the book really entertaining, I got the little Romeo and Juliet hints without it being overpowering and it really made the story unique. How the story left off too was really intriguing, I wanna know more so badly!! I wanna know what happens next!!

Anyway I do ramble but August is my baby and I love him so much and I don’t want anything bad to happen to him ever omg...I ordered the next book which arrives tomorrow so hopefully I can start it before the end of the month because I want more!!

I was sooo apprehensive of this book when it was announced and even after it came out but now I’ve read it...OMG...

I’m so conflicted on this book!! On the one hand it was a really interesting insight into one of the earlier Hunger Games, we learnt quite a bit about their origins and how the earlier ones were and how the decisions made surrounding the 10th Hunger Games influenced how we know them now. But the conflict comes with the fact that I...I...I LIKED SNOW :0

I’m mad because I just felt Snow’s character was so interesting and compelling and how he changed through the book...I’m mad bc I liked him!!! Suzanne Collins is a hell of a writer. I was so sure I wouldn’t like this book because it focused on young Snow but...wow...she did that...she really did that! *shakes fist* I’ll never forgive u for this!!

My one complaint is the ending was a little rushed, I could have easily read another 200/300 pages of this to see it wrapped up a bit smoother, but still 5* because it was so hard to put down!! Anyway I hope she does more prequels, there’s so much stuff I wanna know about!! I wanna know about the war! I wanna know about how Snow came into presidential power! I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE GAMES HAYMITCH WAS IN...SO MUCH I WANT FROM THIS WORLD AND I HOPE WE GET IT!!
