It is an interesting story it was slowed down with so much scientific bloat, while it is kind of interesting ultimately this is a story about murderous mermaids and I picked it up for that reason alone. I wanted more action than it gave. While it's a decent read it's definitely not one that I'm going to keep coming back to experience again and again. I'm also very confused on why the book is quoting itself, is the author so pleased with the line they just have to keep using it? It started to pick up around the 73% mark and redeemed itself at the end.

Definitely not horror in the sense of being scared from it but this story was magnificently done. I enjoyed recognizing who the final girls were a nod to. The twists to figuring out what was going on were great to. It's definitely something for the slasher fan but also a fan of true crime.

This was fantastic and really makes you think about being in a situation like this. Once again Sergio writes a story that keeps me pulled in the entire time.

I wanted to love this. It's set in the same area I live in which is really cool and I've been into Cades Cove and seen/been inside all of the historical buildings. That was all really cool. But it was such a slow read with to me, very little pay off.
