adventurous lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

One of things you want in a good middle grade book is pacing and this definitely has great pacing along with a great story. I though this was adventurous, kind of creepy with a fun mystery at the end. I can't wait to gift a copy to my nephew

I love a good coming of age story and Hell Hollow is exactly that! I tore though this story so quickly, I just couldn't put it down. I switched between my physical copy and the audiobook version just so I could continue. The narrator J Rodney Turner was just perfection for this story, his southern accent elevated the story for me and I loved it so much. Ronald Kelly is such a master at weaving a great characters and a great story. I'm also from Tennessee and Kelly was able to transport me directly into one of the small towns I've seen here.

Plot or Character Driven: A mix

I have been a huge fan of Camp Slaughter since I've read it in 2019 which then made me read all of Sergio's other works. Then I got the audiobook for Camp Slaughter to enjoy again.

I admit, I was slightly worried that Halloween Slaughter wouldn't be the amazing sequel I was hoping for and I am so glad that worry was for nothing. Halloween Slaughter was a fantastic sequel that sucked me in. I enjoyed everything about the story and some of the death scenes were just brutal. Great thing if you ask me! If you enjoyed Camp Slaughter you will absolutely love Halloween Slaughter!
