I finally got round to reading this after seeing the film years ago.
I think, if the vague recollection of what happened in the film wasn't in the back of my mind, I would have put this down after the first couple chapters.
It wasn't that it was hard work, nor was it the content in the pages. I just didn't get on with the writing style.
I can see why it was the way it was and it does its job well. But I just didn't get on with it

Am I glad I persevered though? Yes because it's one of those books that has been on my list for years, ans it's finally crossed off.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. It was just an ok read to kill the time while I travel to work on the train.

Definitly preferred listening to it than reading it.
