Not exactly sure how to feel… I’ve seen so many comparisons to the secret history but it just doesn’t come close for me at all. The characters are incredibly one dimensional and uninteresting to me and I was not invested in the story because it felt too predictable. 

I know other people love this and can kinda see why but it was just a big disappointment for me. 

Just not for me personally, I felt like all the praise I’ve heard about this is focused around topics that this book doesn’t even go into the depths that I needed it to. 

I did not care enough about the main character to be intrigued by her or the things happening in her life. 

And of course life under capitalism is miserable but I did not need a book to just remind me of that without adding any interesting characters, ideas, or, storylines for me to be invested in. 

I think it’s pretty obvious that this was compiled of more of his earlier sentiments but it was still interesting to see how his personal beliefs changed as he grew older. Wish he had a chance at a longer life to see where he would stand today. Rip
