I am genuinely enjoying this series! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one

My partner recommended me this book after I’ve been talking about cheesy sci fi for days around him. I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to enjoy this book but my partner and I are doing our best to read through each other’s favorites right now and BOY did I enjoy this one. Not all of the stories were my jam. My favorite stories in the book were The Man, The Visitor, The Rocket, Zero Hour, and The Illustrated Man. I am currently in the process of getting my secondary ELA and Social Studies endorsements and I can just see myself picking these stories apart with a junior or senior class and using them to compare to other more current sci fi stories. My partner is very happy to have recommended a book that I really enjoyed. So far on our ventures of each other’s favorites, he has liked more of mine than I have his. Well, I’m going to keep going and we’ll see where I get.

I made my best books of 2021 video today and now I’m wondering if I jumped the gun a little bit

(Reread January 3rd 2022 ): I listened to the audiobook this time! Just as lovely as the first time. This is definitely a favorite of all time. SO GOOD!

Ohhhhhhh goodness. It has been years, YEARS, since I have been so engrossed in a book that I physically cannot put it down. This book has broke that streak and I am so grateful. This book is a gift. There are times in this life where I am afraid that I’m not a reader, or that I’m not doing the right things, that I’m making mistake after mistake. But then the Universe has the wonderful way of putting the right book in your hands at the right time. I needed this book. It is a beautiful reminder of the gift that life is, especially during this time of our global pandemic. Ugh, I want to erase it from my memory and start again. I loved it so much, what a gift.

A student has been begging me to read all of Shannon Hale’s stuff so than we can talk about them. I don’t think I liked this one as much as The Princess Academy, but it was super fun :)

Another book recommended by a student!

I thought it was going to be one this but it most definitely was not that :/

This one wasn’t really my favorite. It’s written for kids but I don’t really know what the selling point would be for kids.

I’ve never read a book quite like this one before, but it was SO incredibly fun. I enjoyed it so so much, I didn’t want it to end.

This was one of my favorite books of 2021. I think that the graphic novel just doesn’t hit as hard as the novel does. Still a decent read though.

This one was okay. I enjoyed parts of it but it's one that I wouldn't have picked up on my own. I do see the value in this story though! Very important for young people to learn about this part of our world and history.
