If you were to take Meg Cabot's Mediator series in one hand, and Veronica Mars in the other, and smush these two things together with incredible speed, what would you get? Charley Davidson, that's what. She's a kickass smartass, and I loved her.
This book was a whole lotta fun, and I am super duper glad I picked it up.
Also, Reyes:

Also, Reyes:

Charley Davidson has her problems, but boy do I love her regardless. No, really, I cannot get enough of this series.
Two things:
1) Charley Davidson is still wonderful and I need more of her. Though, she really should consider getting some medication for her ADD. Just a thought.
2) Reyes Farrow will be the death of me.
That's basically all I'm able to say about this book that won't be considered a fangirly, biased, gushy rant. I love the Charley Davidson books and I don't care who knows it.
The end.
(Side note: I know it seems like there are a bunch of plot holes here, but knowing this series, everything you think has been left unsolved will eventually be tied up in later books. It's the Charley Davidson way)
(Side note #2: I totally called that final plot twist, but holy shiitake mushrooms did it have me frothing at the mouth and screaming)

For someone who claims not to like romance-only novels, I loved the crap out of this one. It was so well-written. The romance didn't take over the plot, the main characters were funny as hell, and the story incorporated the right amounts of the original B&tB storyline. It felt new and refreshing. The romance wasn't saccharine and in-your-face, either. The fact that there was so little of it made the uber romantic moments all that steamier. A++ on that front.
I'm actually genuinely considering reading the rest of the books in this series, I liked this that much.

this was never going to be a full review. I just hate writing reviews on my phone
I'm not going to lie to you and say this was amazing. It wasn't. It was a fun, little, Mediator novella that fans are going to love. Jesse and Suze don't quite sound like themselves right now (@Ruzaika, you were right) BUT I'm hoping that will fix itself in Remembrance.
also, fuck Paul.

"This was Early-2000s!Gabrielle's least favorite book in the series. She still really enjoyed it."
