I spent far too long trying to figure out at what point Larsson stopped writing this and when Lagercrantz picked up - not literally in the chronological sense but at what stage in the whole process. This was because I felt some of the plot wasn't as fleshed out as other parts, and likewise the characters felt a bit picked up and put down as and when it suited the storyline which didn't lend itself to a coherent or involved reading experience. I also felt there was too much telling and not enough showing which I'm pretty sure Mr Larsson wouldn't have let slip through the ahem, spider's web... Still a page-turner and still easy and fun to read.

Another one my boy insists I read again and again and again.

We've just got to the stage when my son (2 years old) can now use his own fingers and have all the fun. It's a book that keeps on giving like so many others by Tullet.

I really don't know what to make of this novel, but that in itself can be a good thing. It's not really a 4. more a 3.5. Make of all this what you will... which is pretty much what I did with this book.

Bought this a year ago for my son who is now 2.5. He really did not like it until a few months ago and now it's one of his most requested...

One of those books you feel proud and privileged to own.

I bloody love Lucy Cousins' books for my son. I always feel like she had a really good time making them.
