Collision is a group of dark, thought-provoking, and wonderfully told strange and speculative fiction short stories. Each story is so different and they drew me in with their oddities and prose. My favorite story is of the no-armed pianist that opened the collection and really made me scratch my head. I knew from that first story that this was going to be quite the interesting, original, and weird read! Breukelaar writes with such a mesmerizing style in dream-like stories. This is definitely a collection that will make you think!

Well this one basically had me in tears by the end. Wow. This was a fantastic volume but so much tragedy in it!!! I feel empty now... 3
"I'll just never understand why war is easy, and peace is goddamn hard."
UGH I just love this series so much! Each volume adds more layers to this enriching and complex universe. I am constantly thirsty for more. Definitely one of my favorite graphic novels of all time to this point!

Nailbiter, Vol. 5: Bound by Blood
John J. Hill, Joshua Williamson, Mike Henderson, Adam Guzowski
I love that the plot is getting deeper and more stories are being explored. While I really enjoyed the craziness and randomness early on, I like that it is settling down to one focal point and examining it closer with each installment.
Nailbiter, Vol. 6: The Bloody Truth

"The thing is... I think people want the bad guys to get away with it.Because deep in their hearts, the hope that if they ever did anything wrong, they'd be allowed to get away with it."
And now we finally know the truth behind that town that created/birthed 16 serial killers! I absolutely love how they handled this and the ending was just superb. I highly recommend this to ANY AND EVERY graphic novel lover, horror love, and serial killer lover! Read this series! 5 stars for the entire thing!

So much is nestled inside this novella by Jeremy Robert Johnson. It centers on grief, death, anguish, loss, pain, agony, guilt, and so much more. The lengths someone will go to for someone they love with every fiber of their being is on full display with In The River. I gasped and had my heart broken. One thing I loved most about this story is the format. It's like the way the words and pages are setup that it is a character all on its own. You'll see what I mean whenever you get this one. And you definitely should get this one! But do not just assume that this will be some easy, quick read to fill in between bigger books or to give yourself a break. This book will break YOU.

Another Chad Lutzke book. Another 5 star review. I seriously love everything I have read by him so far and he is absolutely going to be an author I continue to seek and recommend. While this book is not as "horror-y" as other books, there are some shocking dark elements at work and it will be a book that haunts you and resonates deep down as well. This is a coming-of-age story... and it is one that will gut you by the end. Lutzke is a great storyteller and he knows just how to set the stage and build his characters. He knows what the reader wants and he delivers. Every single time. 5 stars!
