YES YES YES!!! What a great read! 5 stars and full review to come!
I enjoyed this installment in the series for the same reason I have been having such a good time with all the others. The downside? I feel the tropes and quirks that make these books so good are wildly overused and exploited here making this book unnecessarily longer than needed due to extra repetition. I'll be pressing on but this one took me longer to get through for the fact it felt like I was going through the same motions over and over again. 3 out of 5 for The Ersatz Elevator!
As we are on the tail end of the series, things are starting to get a little deeper, plots are thickening, and I am anxious to see where everything is going to land and if the Baudelaire children will be triumphant or not! This was a darker installment and I enjoyed it so much!
My favorite thing about this book: the singing Volunteers Fighting Disease who hand out ballooons and whatnot at the hospital --OR-- the cranioectomy. YES - CRANIOECTOMY! Only something simultaneously so silly and vile could be concocted by the sinister Count Olaf. I am also loving his "girlfriend" as she is transforming into the Harley Quinn to Olaf's Joker with each book. She is E-V-I-L!!! We are in it deep now with the Baudelaire's now!
"Tra la la, fiddly dee, hope you get will soon... ho ho ho, hee hee hee, have a heart-shaped ballooooon!"

I really wish there was some consistency with these books....other than it being consistent that every other book is not that great.
OHMYLANTA, YES!!! 5 stars and everyone should read this! Full review to come
It was so nice to see a novelization of the first movie. It helped me get used to the author's style with something I am so familiar so that I could be ready for the written sequel. I thought the story was fresh and fun! And I would definitely like to see it made into some sort of movie one day! What a book to finish on Halloween! :)
Always a good time reading this! Thoroughly enjoyed this re-read! I just want to shoot shit with Jud on the porch and drink beers and have a good time and NOT be attacked by things I buried. Or hear loud, huge Orinco trucks flying down the road in front of my house!
