The book dealt with important themes such as drug addiction, autism, being trans, family obligations, self-preservation really well. The author did a tremendous job with the pacing and suspense and got me thinking about the value of Productivity in the Bigger Picture of life. I think that this book is such an important read and offers a perspective of dystopian fiction that is hardly visited before.

I thought the author did an excellent job with the story. I have nothing of value to add apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I am just frustrated that I was 4 years too fucking late to pick it up but hey, I am here and I love it. The world-building often felt a little info-dump but it's a really short book and as much as I wished we could have spent time exploring the politics of the world, it was still very well explained and immersive. The ending got me fucked up though, like wow. What an ending.

just.. wow. i have never cried so hard in a book before this. their writing is stunning, it is timeless.

"I am tired of pain. it's just easier to focus on love and an existence outside this world. At least that feels like freedom." is among the countless of other lines that i have tabbed and highlighted and closed my eyes to as i clutched this book against my chest.

i am never disappointed with Awkwaeke Emezi's work. never.

it always feels odd to rate a nonfiction but i do quite enjoy the diverse voices that this book contains. i quite enjoy the cismen's pornstar perspective, the fat queer femmes perspectives.. everything was a refreshing take on what the porn industry could be and should be like.

This book made me fall in love with the romance genre. Talia has managed to spin such a steamy story that left me crying in tears and soaking in well.. *gulps*. I cannot wait to read the second installment of the Brown Sisters because I am completely taken away by the entire family.

What can I say: steamy, hot, sensual, romantic, pussy-throbbing, heart-aching and soft. talia has a natural charm in creating characters that i can relate to and enjoy. it is such a rarity to find cismen being written as softly as she has written them to be and i appreciate everything about it.
