"Do you really see our bodies as so unworthy of wearing your clothes? But the hard truth is that a lot of people in the fashion world would really prefer that I weren’t in it. And I think a lot of plus-size women feel that way in our day-to-day lives. For us, something as simple as posting an outfit-of-the-day selfie is a political action, and we have to live with all."

Meet Bea, a plus sized fashion insta-blogger, who found herself in Main Squeeze, a bachelorette reality tv show, after her blog post calling out fatphobia & lack of diversity in that show went viral.

One to Watch is such a dramatic and exhilarating book to read as it is constantly filled with twists that I cannot predict! I loved the conversations surrounding asexuality/aromantic, raising a genderfluid child & being supportive about it, how how reality tv shows manipulate people to the point that it distorts their reality, and the importance of standing up for yourself.

Bea was constantly harassed and targetted on the reality tv show for being plus sized and that she had to be "grateful" that men even looked her way. Which was a little difficult to read because the fatphobic comments were really, Overwhelming. But, realistic - look at any plus sized instagram accounts' comments, it's disgusting. This occurs in real life too. Listen, I didn't realise how much I needed a book with a plus sized Bachelorette but I did. Most of what Bea went through was super relatable - feeling confident about your fat body is super fucking difficult in a world that continues to insult/hurl abuses/humiliates you everyday.

"I don't need a man that looks past my size, i need someone who will love me as i am."

👎🏼 My main critique:
There were some parts of the book where the protag implied that girls/women who are confident in dresses and make up & wants to be presidents and not prom queens are superior than other women who might have the desire to be that way. those parts were a little iffy for me which is why it isn't a 5 star book for me.
