I loved this so much. The two main characters are so endearing. Atwater also has a way of writing that feels so dreamlike -- it makes reading her books so enjoyable. Lot's of mischief and love at play here and it is so well written. Ah! I need more.

 I've found myself in a little bit of a YA mystery kick right now. Unfortunately, this did not hit the spot. Bummer, because it started out so promising!!

By far the best thing it has going on for it is it's two mysteries -- the disappearances that occurred almost a hundred years ago and the murder of a fellow classmate in present day. For that, I can say that perhaps this book can be considered a success. There's lots of intrigue in this book however, I can't say that I was particularly surprised by any of the reveals. And I don't really want to read a second book to figure out the mysteries; I wish the author had given us more because I just feel like this is being drawn out for no reason. I also think this might be one of the very, very, very rare occasions where I am not rooting for the romance at all. Stevie was confused when they kissed for the first time and so was I!

I don't think I will be continuing with the series, although I do want to solve the mystery so maybe I will read some spoiler reviews. 

This book was so charming. Perfect for the holidays! Grumpy and sunshine romances can sometimes be hit or miss with me but I loved this one. Val and Myrtle's reluctant friendship turned love was so fun to read.

I really enjoyed this one! Jayatissa really knows how to add tension into her books. She sprinkled in just the right amount of clues to get you to keep reading and uncovering secrets. I loved the interview excerpts that split some chapters and the twist was refreshing but with a Sri Lankan cultural take. All in all, a very solid book IMO

I had an absolute blast with this book. It was so much fun, but also tender. Jackson makes the town feel so real — the maps, the interviews, and different formats really made the book so much more fun for me. I loved the twists and turns, and the gradual concern and stakes as our main character realizes she might be in danger. 

I have a feeling this book is trying to make us root for the ex-fiancé…absolutely not. He seems awful. 

I really enjoyed Ropa as a character but the plot moves at a snails pace and it feels very meandering. I got to 40% and now I am calling it quits. I am still interested in finishing this book though, so I am putting a rain check tag. Here’s to hoping I’m in the mood for this soon. 

I'm so conflicted. On one hand I really enjoyed Gray and Maya. Their dynamic was everything: slow burn, grump-sunshine, 'I'm too broken to love' and just MWAH! But I find that I really struggle with ensemble casts. In book one, I really enjoyed the chapters we got of the others but in this book it felt like it detracted from the romance. We barely got to see Maya and Gray in action together. I felt like their dynamic was definitely there but it's like the authors didn't try to explore it at all. I just feel like the authors missed the mark by constantly focusing on other members rather than showing Gray and Maya's dynamic. Which is fine, except I'm reading this book to know about GRAY AND MAYA and also the other group members. I get they're trying to build up tension for Dani's book but it kind of annoyed me.

I certainly understand that fleshing out the secondary characters, setting and worldbuilding is important. I just think that the perspective of this book focused so much on that, they forgot this is supposed to be following a couple.

I really enjoyed this book. A dash of whimsy, a touch sweet, and just enough tension to keep you reading. There was one moment in this book that really touched me -- just beautiful writing. Atwater artfully juggles the stakes and the tone she is trying to convey.

An intimate tracking of race and racism in the US through place, Clint Smith takes us to plantations, memorial sites, monuments and other places as he grapples with the legacy of slavery. I loved his approach and tone; his unwillingness to look away from the dirty and admitting when he could have gone deeper, his awareness and vulnerability as he navigated spaces he sometimes wasn’t welcome in. A phenomenal work.
