This is a no for me. Or well a no-ish. I love the concept of this but the execution was not as good.
Let’s start with the art:
Most of the time it was amazing. There are definitely pieces that clearly had some more time spent on them than others. I think if a little bit more time was spent on all the illustrations to make them all look as amazing as some then it would’ve just brought it to that next level.
The actual story:
First thing was that this felt so insanely rushed, I barely knew what was going on and everything and everyone was going so fast. I think that all the points brought up in this one book could’ve been separated and put into multiple books with more detail and I would have enjoyed that way more. It almost felt like watching a trailer to a movie but the trailer gives you the whole plot but no extra fun scenes.
The magic system put in place was not well explained at all, probably because everything was moving so quickly.
**spoilers**
The relationships between all the different characters felt forced and didn’t develop with any one person long enough for me to care about their connection. Also she had only just met this “weird creepy guy” in a bar and then got two inches away from kissing him within like 10 pages? That makes little sense to me.
Overall it’s not terrible and I maybe would read the next one because they are so short but I am definitely disappointed because this seems like a concept that is so up my ally.

The damn trolly problem...
I love this series so much, this novella is no exception, in fact...I kind of want to re-read the entire series again...
