Unfu*k Yourself: Get Out of Your Head and Into Your Life by Gary John Bishop

I quite enjoyed this. It wasn’t anything revolutionary but it sure made me feel good and I started to clean my room while listening (I listened via the audible version). And a Scottish accent is definitely an accent I enjoy listening to. I think the audio book is probably more helpful than the physical book (maybe I don’t have the physical book though so maybe I’ll never know). Hearing someone tell you all the things seems like it’d be more helpful than just reading them. I don’t normally read/listen to books like this but I saw it on audible and had some credits. I’d say if you’re questioning getting it, go for it! I also don’t personally feel like I’m in my head and need to unfuck myself so I’ll keep it in my back pocket until the feeling arises though, maybe then I’ll be able to relate more.

I feel this book would've higher rated by me if I had read it when it first came out in 2014. I however, did not read it in 2014 and instead have read it now. It feels outdated which I know seems insane to say "outdated" over only a 7 year difference but with technology advancing and constantly changing things can become outdated a lot sooner. I think these tips might've helped younger artists in 2014 and earlier but with how much social media marketing has changed since then I find it completely unless and while I do realize the book is meant to very beginner it seems almost for children (that or for much older people) with simple common sense about the art community (at least for today's standards). That being said I do still like the style of book and just wish I would've been able to read it in 2014 or wish that it would've help up to the test of time.
