This is interesting. There is clearly more to this then this book in the series gives. The story gives a good foundation; enough that I know what is going on but no enough to know what is happening next. The art is different and it is growing on me.
We follow Jules in the mist of a pandemic. One that has killed all the adults and most kids in the city. All that remain is the teens now the teen gangs run the street with the miltary watching over head. With slow twisting turns that makes you follow closely behind. The characters are a little flat, we only have 150 pages to get to know Jules I hope the other books give us more. The plot was slow and kids not going anywhere for most of the book but at the end. It intrigue me enough to want to continue the series once it comes out.
Plus ~~ now that I've read Jules. I see that I can read the next 3 in any order which is cool. This is very unique and I haven't seen this before.

What fun! Yuji a normal high school student, which abnormal strength. Is just starting to deal with his grandfathers death and getting along with new friends in school in the occult club, when everything changes when a curse is unleashed in his school unknowingly by the occult club. Luckily Fushiguro is already assigned and working on the case.
When things go bad and Yuji and Fushiguro what will happen! SPOILER Yuji eats the cursed object to obtain the power to fight curses. An old looking finger ~~ GROSS.
With art a mix between Naruto and any Junji ito horror. With a story that starts off with a bang and this leaves alot to be unpacked.

Viktor E. Frankl has experienced a wealth of life. His recount of his experience in life imparticular in Auschwitz. Is tragic, enlightening and uplifting. How does one find hope after such a tragic experience? The reasoning behind logotherapy is interesting and I can see how it can be applied and be usefully in situtations. Though I feel the book was a little to short to truely explain the impacts logotherapy can have, the examples given implys it is a one stop quick fix for alot of mental illness. But I don't think applying just this logic in one session can cure a person and it doesn't talk about an long term cases to see how the patients or if the patients continued applying of logotherapy work long term.
A few things still stuck and I feel were important at least for me.
"therefore the meaning of life, differ from man to man, and from moment to moment. Thus it is impossible to define the meaning of life in a general way."
"Questions about the meaning of life can never be answered by sweeping questions. "Life" does not mean something vague, but something very real and concrete"

The story is only just getting started in this first volume. Yukinojo has had a hard upbringing and now he looks to the future with his new wife. We following Yukinojo now settling into married life, with his wife Asahi and her family living and working together in their apple orchard.
It is peacefully read and you fall straight into this new family, feeling a little odd, and we fell odd with Yukinojo. But as he gets more comfortable the and things seems to settle his world suddenly changes.
This is really interesting concept. Definitely will continue reading this series.
Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha for providing me a eARC for an honest review.
