A really quick and easy read.
This was a little predictable and I have come to expect more from Kristen Granata in terms of depth to her characters but overall this was still an enjoyable read despite the slightly more shallow feel to it.
It covered a really important topic, another trait I’ve come to expect of Granata, and something she does really well! So far I haven’t read a novel of here that doesn’t use respect and decorum to discuss the hard hitting topics she covers.
I also liked the HEA that we got because there was a moment I didn’t think we would ahaha.

I think I was fortunate enough that this topic really interests me and was actually something I did. My dissertation on, otherwise I’m not sure I could have got through this book.
It is good, really good, and really very important. However the trouble is it covers law and the legal system in the U.K. within this it also discusses how one of the biggest hindrances is the lay person understanding the entire system and knowing their rights and knowing what’s going on and why etc. However he/she writes like a lawyer!
I have a slight law background and I struggled a lot. It made it a very slow read. I think considering he/she wrote the book to appeal to the general public it needed to be a lot more simple then it was.

This was technically a reread for me as I read it years ago and thought it was really fantastic but it fell a little flat re-reading it. I don’t think that’s because it’s a bad book, just that since I was 15 I’ve read better books
Another wonderful buddy read with Leonnie.
This is the second book in the Raven Boys series and this on focuses more on Ronan and his abilities to take things from his dreams I to the real world and how that plays in part in the bigger picture of the series.
I’m starting to get a sense for Maggie’s writing style now, and in typical Maggie style this book at first kept giving me more and more questions but with no answers. However, boy was I HOOKED. I was desperately wanting to know the answers and trying to work them out myself. Did I get any of them right? One or two. But some were so far off and the story was all the better for it.
As with the first book, the descriptive language and world building skills that Maggie uses are truly brilliant. She really enables you to imagine the exact place or person or item that she is describing.
This book focuses more on Ronan and I loved getting to know his character. So much so that I got my very talented friend to create an illustration of him because I could not get him out of my head. You really got to see the depths to him and the different layers of his personality and I loved getting to know him as the book went on.
However there was a few characters that I don’t think were done as much justice as Ronan and I am still yet to see how I feel about them as the series goes on because there are certain characters at the moment that just annoy me
