This book was so harmless and lovely and just right. Only reason it took me more then two days is because I was so busy.
I really like how although this is a romance book - and a really lovely enjoyable one at that - it also touches upon some slightly deeper issues. I love the story cantering around self acceptance and self worth they’re really important.
Honestly I think I would have preferred a little more of the couple scenes however I still enjoyed the book.
The chemistry between the main two was fabulous!

Read in one day because the story intrigued me.
Amazing first chapter that really hooks you.
Lovely beautiful timeless romance.
Bit of drama and suspense.
Overall really lovely and good.

Problems: there’s a massive plot hole. Logan isn’t going to prom because of a promise he made about some girl and it’s a sad situation....that situation is never explained or the promise.
Quite a few typo and spelling errors scattered throughout.

This is the second historical romance book I’ve read and I’m starting to love the genre more and more.
I LOVED this book. It had excellent writing, a great plot, wonderful characters and a beautiful ending. There was a lot of chemistry between the two characters but not a lot of x-rated scenes however this wasn’t a downside-the script worked perfectly for the story. I also loved how we didn’t have to wait long in the story to see if our noble lady would feel for the knight, and once we found out she did the story built and built with no dips in plot - it just kept going right through to a strong ending.
Only thing I could have asked for more was more pages because I loved it so much!

I’m actually giving this 4 and a half stars but there’s no option for that on goodreads (could we get one???)
This book is just GOOD! I’ve personally never read or heard of a book with the same plot line as this before and it was a really refreshing take on the murder mystery trope. The writing was good. The characters were good. Everything was just good.
Pace wise it moves well, and with the interjection of work logs on pages it keeps the pace going steady. Each chapter felt necessary with no fillers.
Did I see who did it coming? A little bit, but throughout the book you’re constantly questioning who it was so I did guess it at one point and then changed my mind. Also totally didn’t guess it because this books has twists and turns up until the end.
I will be recommending this book for years to come.
Reasons not to give a full 5 stars: ever so slightly unbelievable, I.e. do I really think a 17 year old could do all this. And also with the danger level I just wish for once to see the teenagers going to the police when they’re threatened, like the safe thing to do is (but that’s also a deep routed hate of mine from PLL so that’s more personal)
Go and read this book!
emotional lighthearted medium-paced

A half autobiography, a half story book!
This is a book full of what I can only presume is Billy’s content when he used to be up on stage making people laugh out loud, which the book makes you do as well.
You get glimpses of his life through stories and funny moments made all the more real by the Scottish words heavily sprinkled throughout.
All in all and I credibly enjoyable story book - lots of swearing though so perhaps if that’s not what you enjoy it may not be as enjoyable for you. As a Scottish gal myself it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
The only thing I really didn’t like was that anytime he was talking about a noise, he spelt it out in full: eg ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh and honestly I HATE this

Really enjoyed

I really liked this book, so much so that I’m going to straight away buy the second one and start reading it.
It was a fast-paced love story with no annoying (in my opinion) love triangles or complications, just a simple boy meets girl and they fall in love. Whilst I loved that the story got straight in to it without too much h of a slow burn, I did feel there were certain aspects of the book that were rushed and could have been explored more. However this meant that the book was a nice length, pretty short and no filler chapters.
I love London as the setting, and felt as if I had been transported to all the places visited as well with such wonderful descriptions in place.
I would have preferred a bit more character depth, I think we only touched on the surface with them however I know that may be addressed in the next book.
However even the supporting characters I feel we could have got a bit more time with. Understandably this is a romance centred on Lizzie and Thomas but sometimes it was too much then. For example Lizzie moves to London with Callie and then once Thomas is introduced we completely loose Callie. I would have liked to have seen more interaction between the two girls in this life changing journey together instead of just Thomas and Lizzie.
Lastly, a personal irk is the fact that we don’t know if the couple end up sleeping together. This book is zero steam - but it’s a good thing because it’s a cute romance - but I would have liked to know if it had happened because it actually is a bit of a plot point. Instead we’re just left with a maybe and never w confirmation

I very gratefully received a free ARC from the author for an honest review. Opinions are my own

3.5 stars!! (Really need that half star rating system Goodreads)
So I need to begin by saying I ENJOYED THIS BOOK. Once I got into it I ended up reading it in two sittings it was good.
HOWEVER, I have issues and unfortunately the issues were quite big for me.
First - someone NEEDS to change the blurb! I have no idea who creates the blurb of books but it does not represent what this story is about at all! Reading the back you think this is a love story - whilst there are aspects of a romance intertwined it is not what this book is about.
Secondly - I don’t actually think the love story is that good. I felt as if the author was writing two separate books and decided to try and combine them but for me it didn’t work. There was a story of family and loss and knowing ones self, and then on the back bench was this random love triangle situation interspersed throughout which really I think the book could have done without because not enough time or effort appeared to be given to the romance.
Thirdly - I had a bit of issue with the formatting, as it wasn’t clear when a new section was beginning or who was talking at certain points but this could be because it was an ARC so I’m not 100% sure of that.

If these three things were fixed I feel the book would go from a 3.5 to at least 4.5 stars. The story that exists between the main family is really quite special and tackles important life issues. I loved the setting of Cambridge/Jersey and I thought a lot of the secondary characters (apart from the two men involved in the love triangle) were well established and brought a fresh spark to the story when they appeared.
I would recommend this book to people but I would advise them to ignore the blurb and also be aware of the following trigger warnings:
-death of a family member
-choosing death (but not suicide) rather than fight to live
-feelings and emotions surrounding adoption
-cheating

This book was the perfect book for right now. I was in a slump and needed something light and good and wholesome to get me out of it.
This book had me LAUGHING OUT LOUD (my sister told me to shush multiple times) and it was cute and romantic and just perfect right now.
It also despite being a light easy read had a really good message about being honest to yourself, and to others.
Only thing I would have preferred is a bit more steam. There’s only really two scenes of intimacy and they start quite early on in the relationship then after that there isn’t even a kiss
