Prémisse intéressante, mais on tombe rapidement dans du déjà vu, regard sur ça vie passée, regret et colère, pessimiste asumé, etc... Un manque d'orginalité et de profondeur qui font très mal. Bien écrit par contre!

Petit recueil de nouvelles sur différents «vices». Le style est trop doux, trop «soft», les histoires tombents à plat et manquent de «punch». Un concept intéressant, mais au final pas grand chose ne fonctionne au niveau de l'exécution!

3,5/5. Petit livre qui décrit très bien la réalité enseignante. J'ai reconnu certains éléments de mon quotidien, des bons comme des moins bons. Assez bien écrit et histoire correcte. Simple et sans prétention. Ceux qui aime la fiction en milieu scolaire y trouveront surement leur compte!

Une réunion de famille qui tourne à la chicane. Histoire simple, mais très drôle et une excellente maitrise des dialogues, malgré la confusion ambiante et les nombreux personnages, cela demeure facile à suivre. J'ai bien aimé!!

Recueil de chroniques ternes et inintéressantes! J'ai trouvé le ton un peu prétentieux également. Bref, cela ne m'a vraiment pas plu!

This is why I love to read less knows author, so, from time to time, you can discover great book like this one. We follow Michael Kieh, a priest, that gets involve into some strange murders cases (don’t want to say too much for not risking spoiling anything) and then, in one every two chapters, we goes in his past to see his childhood in Liberia. The crime part of it was good but it isn’t what makes it great. The strong element of this book is its characters. Strong, well develop, original, none of them fell into clichés or anything like that. How many have a priest has a main character? There are also a lot of others elements that make it stand out of the lot in a good way. The airport setting is very unique, I didn’t even knew that they’re like priest mostly living in some of those big airport, original and educational, loved it! There is also the background of the Liberia social and violence problem that bring, again, something original, and something that need to be talked about because this situation is real, been going on for years and there are real life as staked, real people living hell in that part of the world. The tension is well use and put into place in a good that even if sometimes the story feel a bit out of rhythm (there is a lot of dialog, maybe a bit too much, so that slow down the pace a little, even if the dialog are well masters by the author). A story about love, in different form, resilience, faith, redemption, and so many others things. A story that goes beyond a genre and even if not perfect, a strong novel that deserved every minutes it takes to read. An author worth discovering!

Good little Christmas story with a message in it, very light and on the side, but still there. A simple but entertaining adventure. Nothing extraordinary, but a good read!

There is many different types of science-fiction read, this one is not one of alien monster and big giant spaceship so if you’re looking for that, you might pass. In fact, I hardly even consider it a science-fiction book, being so close to reality and having very few elements of what, for me, makes science-fiction what it is. That being said, this is a well build book!
First of all, this is tenth book of the Enigma Series, which I never read any before, I don’t know how much link there’re between each of them, but for the storyline, I wasn’t out of place and could easily follow it, but I find that the characters were a bit generic, not unique and mostly interchangeable, maybe that’s a point I would reconsider reading the previous one, but for this particularly book, I think that the development of characters is probably the lowest element of all. That being said, this book bring you in a very political-economical complex intrigue, with some technological elements (that’s is why I wasn’t sure it really belong in science-fiction…), but the story is very well put into place, like I said, complex, lot of characters, many different settings and time, an intrigue that play on an international level, etc. but the authors find a way to keep it going on track for the entire book and that’s good work. The writing was good but I would say a bit dry (in French we call it «une écriture sèche») not sure is dry is appropriate in English, but I mean a writing that is more factual then poetic, not a bad or a good point, can be both, it depends on your personal preferences! So, not a big win for me (personal taste) because of all this economical part of it, but if you love complex intrigue, have an interest in economy and crypto-currency (which by the way is very original, we don’t see much book on that subject), this might be a good pick!

A really good comic book/graphic novel about three persons that goes into the trial of a new drug. The characters a very good, there's a also a good dose of humor and social criticism as well. The rhythm is also fast paced, almost like a soft thriller kind of thing and everything work well! Not necessarily the kind of graphic novel I would normally enjoy but i really like this one! Interesting discovery!

Funny little adventure. Nothing much or less about it. Yes it was good but nothing to make it out of the lot. An average kid book!
