I had heard good think about this series, but I won't continue on. It felt a bit young for me, the art was a bit too cartoonish, the main character yell too much, the story was interesting but at the same time not really original and there is so much manga out there that I just think this one isn't really worth my time.
A bit less action in this volume, but we get a lot of background character development and this was really interesting. I like it!
Marketing and branding going too far. This isn't a Star Wars story, this is young teens in space adventure for children. The SW link is so thin you loose it. The story is slow and the characters full of clichés. Honestly there isn't nothing about it that would make me recommend it. Pass on, you must!
First, lets be honest, I hated The Wives. But, first book, I tried to be fair and gave an honest second chance to the author. She won't have a third... This was bad. Domestic thriller of course, which I think are falling lower and lower every years now after a big start with Gone Girl or The Girl on The Train, now it seems everyone want to recreate the success of those, but without the talent or original on their side (strange parallel could be made with The Hunger Games and the YA phenomenon). Anyway, poorly written, blank and generic character, a mass market produces of fiction, a Tuesday afternoon Tv movie level of entertainment. Their is a market for those, my mother watch those movies and enjoy them, this is okay, but it isn't for me.
Not for me, not badly written and the conjugal violence was well presented in the beginning mostly so that was "well done", but as a piece of fiction, as a thriller, this didn't bring me anything. Too many unrealistic twist and poor protagonist.
Well well well! A counting book. There isn't so much to say about those. I did enjoy it. The illustrations are very classic, this is an old book, but I like the style and it help kids learn to count. Not sure I get why this is consider a "classic" because even if good, it doesn't outstand the mass that much...
Very charming. Good story, funny humor, important message, great art by jefffers, everything a good picture book needs!
Oliver Jeffers is one of the great when it come to children book. His art is amazing and he proves it here. Such a beautiful book all by itself, the canvas of the page, the frame, the illustrations/painting, and if that wasn't enough what a story! A fable for the ages. A bit of a dark ending for children, but the lesson it will teach them is priceless!! Amazing works! Truly!
