4,5/5. Another great book by McDonald! Doing a good book as the second one in a trilogy is a tricking thing and too many fall into the middle book syndrome. Not this one. Yes some elements of that syndrome are here, but not many, and too lightly to drag it down. I love the main character and his evolution. He had a hell of a rough time!! The universe continue to grow and it's a truly amazing world that the author have created. We also get a good plot, but less surprising in the twist and revelation than in the first one and overall a good plot, but maybe not something really outstanding in that part, while still totally entertaining. I'm really interest in picking the third and final one soon and will read anything new Ed McDonald will publish later on. Not a series much talk about online, but if you love fantasy and want something fresh and dark than I would recommend reading the Raven's Mark!!

3,5/5. Most of the book focus on mindfulness and I have to admit, even if I'm not the biggest fan of the concept and the concept if often bring in a totally wrong way by a lot of authors, this was the book that explain it the most clearly and the most trustful and loyal to the «real» concept. So if you're interested in learning about mindfulness, start with this book and not a wannabe psycho pop author.

That being said, when you get pass that learning mindfulness proper way, this book felt a bit repetitive and don't bring that much more and I was searching for something deeper. nonetheless, a good introduction for beginner in the «Zen» or mindfulness or stuff like that. It's easy to go into and you will learn and than bring good practice into your life. But if you're already into that, other than a good reminder, this book won't really help you go further on the way!

Part of my Lovecraft study a really good book that cover the «essential» writing of Lovecraft with a short biographical part in the beginning and annotation along the way!

Everything there is!! Not the most beautiful edition. This is very straight forward with every writing in chronological orders, but an essential read for the fan or to discover and very affordable for the massive book it is!

Up to date state of research on sleep and dreams. Well explain and very complete it presents the state of the research in this fields in a way that most people will be able to understand. It's a complexes subject, but the book isn't too academic. If this is a topic of interest for you you don't want to miss this book!

Massive reference book! Tons of classical recording to discover, with the «recommended version» but also with others versions worth listening too, so they might actually be even more than 1001. All presented in chronological order, the book also provides information of the history ad creation of those recording and musical part. If you love classical music and want to discover more, this is a good book to browse and keep on your coffee table!

3,5/5. A lot slower and less intriguing then the first volume. The action is still good, but the many characters and backgrounds to their story slow down the main storyline and it seem to have take a different style a bit, a bit younger I might say. I'm still interest, but a lot less curious. Let's pick one or two more volume and see how it goes from here!

When the exorcist need a psychiatrist!

This book scream narcissisms so loud my head still hurts! It wasn't good and wasn't even well written. I was going into it, interested in the subject even if skeptical, but with open mind, curious on the topic and wanting to learn. Instead I find myself in a book mostly about the author and she just doesn't seem too me like a person I would trust the judgement or sayings. A book I will regret buying for the rest of my life...
