Obviously I'm not the targeted reader for this book. I decide to have a look because of the «hype» or all the talking that this book has made over the last years. It would have been better I didn't. This book is really bad, there is so much pop-culture for preteen that it disgust me (especially the clothings/accessories part). It isn't really well written either... You get it. I didn't like it. There's no point bashing it... Not good! Not for me!

Should have listen to the reviews... This was really bad. I will be short. Everything was bad, there's a single good things about it, except the premise, but the worst was the characters and the way they're behaving. What kind of man try to knock down his front down before breaking a windows to enter his house without even knocking to check if his wife is home? What kind of man is scared shit less (abandoning his car on the highway, running over ten miles to get home, breaking a window to get in, etc.) and finally check out the neighbors, random chat here and there with them «Hey how is your son?». And that is all in the first 30 pages. Seriously this book is a joke, it look like the author never have any contact with humans being to think they behave like that.

Ishhh that was bad. The story is just unoriginal from start to finish. The characters is blank, it had some moments here and there having interesting thoughts, but mostly nothing from him. But my biggest problem with this book was the writing style, so over-written, trying to add some styles in a weird way and using so much words and sentences just to say nothing, it was crazy. It’s something that I often read in French book, trying to overdo it, but in English, that much, I think it was a first! It also has a lot of dialog, too much in my opinion. It was another case of my going blindly into a book because the title catches my attention... One day I might learn and be more careful!

2,5/5. I wasn't expecting anything fabulous with this one, because the astrology stuff is often too esoteric for me, even if I like and kind of believe that those zodiac does define us a bit in term of personality, and not in what will happen to you today or this week. But this book, even if it bring a bit of sign vs personality stuff, it also bring a lot of zodiac sign vs injuries/health issue, that are not always related to you sign but... it's confusing and feel like rubbish a bit. Also the random yoga pose or other way to help your pain doesn't feel specific, but like I say, random. More esoteric then expected for sure. It's like they have taken the zodiac sign, frequent injuries, and yoga/meditation and blend it all together. It'll attract a certain public for sure, but will many will finish this book finding what they were really looking for... I doubt it!

Nope, that wasn't right for me. Not that it was badly written, but it seem out of context, I think this could have been good as a part or some chapters of a entire novel, but here we just get some action seem, low background characters which I never care about, and all the epicness of it is lost because everything feel rush and the stakes seem, again out of place. Just not the right media for this story. Should have been longer to had some depth to it!

2,5/5. Exploring new genres and style at the moment I try to find what I want to dig more into and want I just want to push aside and be done with it knowing it isn't for me. At the moment, it become more and more clear to me that novella isn't my favorite media at all. I like novel, obviously, and I lie short story too, but novella, between a stretch out short story or a sketchy novel isn't something that I enjoy a lot. I still want to explore some in the horror or science-fiction department, because I think that it's a genre that short story work well with, exploring cool concept or disturbing one, so maybe that would end up better in novella, but as for fantasy novella, I'm pretty much done with them, or will be very picky in the future.

There is a reason why fantasy build series or/and massive books. It takes time to build those characters and even more that world and novella doesn't allow that to come. In this particular case of this book, the world and mythology looks promising, but we only get a glimpse, pieces, not enough to deep dive and learn about it. The character were pretty well introduce in the time/pages allow and that is a good one by the author. The writing in itself won't win it award but it was alright. The main problem with this one, was the narrative, the focus on the plot and the pace. Those threes are unfortunately majors flaws that ends up with me being bored half through it and not caring much. It had its strength too, but like I said, novella, probably wasn't the best format for this story.

2,5/5. This didn't do it for me. The storyline is too thin and the illustrations became very blurry in action scene so it's often hard to see what is really happening. I already have the second one so I will give it a try but I was expecting more from this series!
