Another book, another good one in this collection! Always good this series provides short biography, about famous, and sometimes less knows people, for children. I like this one, provides good, more «personal» background of Steve Jobs. My only concern, and that's why i drop one star, was the fact that jobs look like a women the entire book, not sure I really like the illustrations of this one, but still worth it nonetheless!

I know, this might look a bit too intense for some, but just read my thoughts first before passing on this one!!

I've been interest into Buddhism for over a decade now, fifteen years might be more accurate, more or less intensively but always into it. I read about it, try to introduce it into my life, because for me this is way closer to a philosophy than religion. This is a way of life and being 33 years old now, I realize that a bunch of the best things that have happen in my life, were in some way related to those principles that I try to live by. So I've been willing to take it to another level for some time and this book was the tool I needed to do so.

Maybe a bit dense for beginners, but amateurs who have a good basic knowledge and want to dig a bit more will find something to think about here. It takes you on into more precise way to live by Buddhism standard, take you into a more deep reflexion about meditation and guide you on how to do it better. It seems to me that meditation have become more and more popular, but people just do it in a relaxing way, which is fine if that's just what you need, but if you want to deep dive into meditation you might need more help, more guidance, and this book is there for it.

Good step by step guide, easy to understand and follow, a lot of thoughts and thinking materials, good Buddhism source, reference and knowledge share through those lines and a book I will reread, maybe not cover to cover again, but use it as a reference book to go back into from time to time to «readjust myself».

This is the book I was looking for for quite some times! And of course when you read it, some might seem a bit overwhelming, but you don't have to bring it all on your life automatically. i sure take a lot, but I left some too, might bring it in some years, if I want to commit even more to it.

Take some or leave some, there sure is a lot to help you, maybe not awaken instantly, but maybe have a time of introspection and taking the time to rethink your life and how, and why, you want to life it!

I highly recommend it if the subject is of some interest to you!!

A fun and a bit weird book about a chicken helping a kid in its morning routine. Simple, but fun. I drop it two stars, one because it was too simple, and the second because the editing, is just too simple, cheap for saying it clearly. One blank page with text and one page with an illustration, and so on, text, illustration, etc. Could have use more love in the editing work!

Wow!! That was something! It was strange, original, very complex, had marvelous artwork and all of that contribute to create a great graphic novel. Part of an homage to Da Vinci, part science-fiction a book that is really hard to describe, that need to be experience. My word won't be able to do it justice, so I better just stop here, but truly an amazing work of creativity that I highly recommend!

Apparently being in the same collection as the Ancient Egypt book I review recently, this one focus on the Wonders of the Worlds like the title says, but my pros and cons are exactly the same. It has decent information, very short, but decent. Unfortunately the pictures are not good, not in the angle, or the picture in itself, but in the quality of it. Were they too compress to fit the book, was it only for the digital version and on it ends up okay? I don't know, but as a digital copy, which I was provided, the result isn't good at all and unacceptable for this kind of book, which focus, mainly, on the photography!

After publishing the review I was contacted by the publisher who say that the picture quality is due to a pdf size restriction on NG that didn't allow them to have the full resolution. Which is more than possible, so I give it an addition star. They also offer to send a print copy so I could see the actual print quality. Don't know if or when I will get it, but when I do I will edit this review again to share my opinion on the print quality.

Finally got a physical copy from the publisher so thanks to them and I have to admit, the digital/NG files didn't do justice to this book!!. Wow the pictures are beautiful. The quality of those photographies are as good as it gets and that is where digital marketing job can get risky because at first I gave that book two stars, and I will end up giving them five, so if the publisher haven't come forward to me than I would have had a bad opinion of their works, share that opinion and ... So again, in a real physical copy, the picture are great, clear and this book just become a perfect coffee table book. It's also way smaller than I expect in term of size/dimension, and it's cool, because often coffee table are big and sometimes they almost take to much place on the table but this one, small enough to fit anywhere, but at the same time the right size to allows you a nice look at the photography!

A photography book with some information on Egypt. I didn't like this book much, because of the quality of the pictures, in those books, this is an important element and with this one, not all, but more than half of them were very low quality. If not the information were okay, but too short for serious research and that's why I classify it as a photography book more than anything else.

Beautiful book by Amber again. The NG pdf files doesn't give it true justice in term of photography quality, slightly better on the NG apps, but I had the chance to put my hand on a physical copy of their recently and they are quite pretty in real life.

Mostly pictures book, their is so information, which is relevant, but the appeal is more about the photography. That one as some amazing picture of deep space object and developing a new interest in astronomy at the moment, the timing for me and this book was perfect.

Short editorial note here about Goodreads. Have you notice how many books are misspell recently on Goodreads. Just this book, the author i Harvey and here it,s spell Harvery. i notice bunch of those, sometimes misspell, sometimes a complete different name in the title or the author... most of them are book now on NG, not sure was is the source of it but if some Goodreads librarian reads this, well you should dig that up a bit!!

Mostly pictures book, their is so information, which is relevant, but the appeal is more about the photography. That one as some amazing picture of bear from various kinds and would please the bears and/or animal lovers. Bear are amazing creature and for having the chance to see a couple of those in real natural wild life in my life, they are both beautiful and kind of scary, even small black bear are kind of big so I can't imagine what its must be to go face to face with a polar bear or a grizzly.

One of the best one of the series! We get good story evolution and also interesting background of our Friends. Love it! Vol. 9 coming in the mail at the moment, I just can't wait!

Second book in this short horror novel for middle-grade readers and it will be the last. Not that they are bad in any ways, but there just not really good in any way neither. A bit blank, very slow, not much horror and the audio book I listen too didn't bring the ambiance I was looking for. The sound was just okay, but a bit low and «grishy» it might have been an attempt for some sort of ambiance in some way but it was just bothering me since I had to pump the sound so high and hear a bunch a white noise behind the actual reading. So not a great experience for me. Maybe a book I would recommend for young reader who want to get introduce to horror, but I would recommend going with an original physical book and not the audio!
