Awesome!!! Best comic I've read in a while. It was horribly dark, have a great cast of characters, something more of and old schools Batman Detective story, less focus on action, even if it has a lot, but more on the story, the who?, the why? I really love it! Can't wait for the next issue!
Not sure I totally like the «story» in itself, but the arts in it was just wonderful. Simple made perfect! And the book is just full of tenderness so even if this is a bit of a flat story, a little adventure and nothing else, the book totally deserve the time (seem weird said this way, but trust me)!
This is probably the best we've got in a while, but I will be out nonetheless. The Empyre crossovers or metastory is just too big for me at the moment, not sure how good it will be in the overall run and I just don't want to commit this hard right now on it and it seem I just can't follow it properly without reading it all. Maybe when it will all be over I will get the all-in-one issue (probably be more than one volume, but anyway...) and read it all, but issue by issue, here and there, with all the side story... Not right now... maybe some day!
3,5/5. Cute little book with a short and small story, but mostly, like the title mention, a book about learning how to count and «recognize» the quantity. Well done for what it wanted to be!
Nice fan boy artwork! I like this game a lot, one of the best Star Wars game in years in my opinion and I was glad to have a copy of this one to explore a bit more of the art and development of it. If you enjoy the game and want a bit more from it, this is a nice book, well edited and with a good overall quality!
Funny book about sharing! Not really hard on the moral or anything, just an entertaining read with a small touch to it. I like it!
I love this one! The rhythmic writing was good, the story was fun, but most of all I enjoy the way it talk about kids wanting to be grown-up too fast and it shows how grownups sure do cool think, but also how little ones can do stuff they cant. Well done!!
A very short book, not a lot of text in this one, but a fun adventure that can teach kind of a lot, listening, talking more or less, respect, difference, etc. Good job!
4,5/5. Rereading my review of the first Gentleman Bastard book, I've to admit I almost have the exact same comments this second time. This is a novel all about characters and plot/intrigue which are both great. Their is also some good humor, mostly in the dialogue, that really work well with me. The action is good, even if Lynch isn't the best to write action scene in my opinion. The pace is still a bit of a problem, very slow at time, felt rush in some. The ending was better in this sequel, more depth to it. I really like this series and even if it won't become a must-read or a highly recommend one, because I think this isn't for everyone, I do think that Scott Lynch has a very unique voice in the fantasy world, where too often we get author trying to recreate or being too much inspired by recent hits, Lynch just go out there do his stuff and delivers a very unique piece of work and I totally respect and enjoy that!
A bit too light, I like my horror to be darker and heavier than that! Could be, maybe, more interesting for teenagers who are kind of new to horror. As an adult, the lack of depth in the stories, characters, twist and writing, mostly overall, was a bit disappointing. Not bad, just not much to it!
