Another good one. A mix of villain battle in the beginning and then more of a school competition in the last half. Not much evolution in the story line but a enjoyable read. I haven't read a My Hero Academia in a «while» and it felt good going back in!

Not really what I was expecting, but still very good, not that much for me as an adult, but definitely better YA than most of what I’ve seen. Of course there is a lot of romance and that was my first surprise I didn’t expected it to be as much about the relationship as it was. But it’s an interesting relationship, even more if you think is was written in 1996, a teenagers having cancer and everything surrounding it was kind of «new» or at least less frequent at the time, the author also didn’t fall into stupid clichés, stereotypes and tropes, like instalove or the love triangle. My second surprise and worst deception was the fantasy/supernatural element. The story isn’t as much focus on it as I would have wanted it to be. Those elements are well developed but always introduce in a weird way. Everyone just accept it too easily. The last thing I want to talk about was the characters who were likeable and interesting, and the writing which was more than good for this genre, very fluid, fast paced, not too flowery for no reason, etc.
For me it would be a 3 stars, very fast read, enjoyable but not enough to get me going with the series. But for younger reader, both boys and girls, I think this can offer a fun ride and really take the transition between middle grade and YA, since it’s really easy to get into and kind of small. So I gave it a fair 4 stars. Not what I was expecting but in a strange way maybe better than what I was expecting!

Of course this isn’t the kind of book you read cover to cover, but was it a great guide or companion to have by your side while reading Tolkien, absolutely!! Well done, very basic alphabetical order so easy to consult and search in it. Look to me like it’s very complete. If you want to deep-dive into Tolkien universe and want a useful reference book to help you go into it, I would recommend this one!

Great picture book about a more quiet child, a introvert, a listener. Great story and an even more great and important message. In this too much social world, people who feel a lesser need to talk or express themselves out loud often are «judge» or people don’t understand why they are like it. Being like that, always had been, I think this is something important to talk about and speak of it to children. And then maybe even the speakers an learn to listen a bit more!

Could little book about culture and family. I had some issues with the child with can be a bit unpleasing, at the beginning mostly, but the story felt good and was bringing an important message as well. I like it!

Not really what I was expecting but an interesting book, from a new collection. The collection present «unpleasant» emotion with character experiencing them in normal casual life stuff and showing them, it also tell us that it's normal to fell like that and help the children to learn how to overcome those feelings. This one is about feeling shy, as the title says. My only complain with it, and what didn't allow it the five stars approval rating was the too obvious teaching lesson in it. I would have prefer it to be more «disguise» into a story with a moral in it instead of being plain obvious life teaching lesson book. Still worth it and can totally be useful for children and parent!

Love it! We don't see old school sci-fi so well written often! A very atmospheric writing, poetic even at time. A concept that's now well known but in 1967, this was something quite original! Yes it's officially science-fiction, but we get element from mystery, even an horror vibes in the beginning and some sort of weird love relationship. Amazing variety in the narrative, strong ideas and an intriguing premise. Classic science-fiction doesn't get a lot better than this!

Another great one! For me this one was of the most well balance volume of the series. Perfect balance between action, story and philosophy. Strong and beautiful artwork like always. There is only one more left... can't wait to read it but I also want to pick it up at the right time to fully enjoy it!
