3,5/5. This one is a bit more casual bilingual book. One story in English, flip the other side (start at the end) and the other half propose the same story in Spanish. Nothing quite original here but decent job!
So a blitz from this author bu NetGalley today and this is really a great one if you're looking for bilingual English/Spanish children book. This one is obviously about color, again fun and colorful and with the cardboard to lift up which is good in a physical book, but here again, the author/publisher find a very good way to transpose that part of the book in the ebook, there isn't of course the manipulation and the surprise effect is less there, but at least you can still enjoy the entire book. Well done, creative, educative!
A presentation of India (place, culture, language, etc.) through an exploration along the page with the characters of the book. Personally not my favorite kind of children book, but I would use it like in the preparation of a trip with kids, like a travel guide, before travel, to explain a bit of where we are going and all that. Well done, just not really my thing!
Not the best one of the series so far. Still good and way better then most comic, but there just nothing much happening, like we have to get somewhere and to get there well we have to pass here and I get that, in the general plot this make total sense but as a single issue it lack a little something to be great. I will wait for next week to see what happen!
3,5/5. Very fun western with a good cast of characters, lot of action, good story as well. Nothing of it al is very original or anything, but entertaining and really just a fun comic book. Not sure I will search for the next one, but I would glad read it if I tumble on it. Worth reading!
This book contains four short stories, the main one, the title one, is the one most know. What make it particular is not the writing, same could be said about the others stories, not much in any of them, but the strange similarity between the story and the Titanic. It almost describe exactly the Titanic and how it sinks but it was published in 1898 and the Titanic sinks in 1912. This is kind of weird and make the book worth reading just for that. The rest of it is okay, but nothing noticeable in my opinion. An anecdotic read!
Beautiful «demonstration» of what dads can and should do to/with/for you. I really like the concept but also the facts that it was presented with real picture of dads with their kids, it makes it looks more real, more true. Simple but well done!
Good but I would have like a little more evolution in the main plot.
This was so freaking weird!! At first I lack it, I love weird stuff and always looking for something original. So the first half, maybe a bit less, was manageable. But after that, it goes in every direction, mess with everything, I don't want to say too much, don't want to spoil anything, but it just became way too much, like it was trying a bit too hard, to be enjoyable for me. Might be worth looking at, the art was awesome, some kind of weird 80s vibes too it, I really like it, and the story... well you will see. I respect the originality and the setup, but it lost me along the way!
Good and educative. I like the way it plays with sounds/rhythmic of the sentences. The vocabulary it try to build. And the cute story/illustrations that it bring. Very basic in almost everything but on point everywhere so that does it!
