Well done book that presented the wonders of the world in various category (man made, nature, etc.). It has stunning quality pictures and good information. Good job!
Great second book in this detective series. I love the rhythm, always fast, the story was captivating, the writing was alright for this genre and I really like the presence, the intrusion in the prostitution world, it was well done in my opinion, interesting and it covers different aspects of the subjects. Two little negative points that loss it a star. First, the development of Helen was not enough, not much evolution in her and I was expecting more after the event of the first book (Charlie on the other end had a good evolution). Second, and worse, I'm a bit disappointed by the male representation of this book, I get that this is mostly about prostitution an that male are the more common «user», but every man, and I mean literally every one of them, is a pervert, a rapist, a sadist and every one of them feel the need to use the service of a prostitute, which I can't agree with. It would have been great to have a least one good guy (rethinking it Charlie husband was okay, even if... at least he wasn't on prostitute, but he was a very very secondary character) in the whole book, and this bad representation of men is something we get more and more often in thriller book written by woman, just saying... That being said, I still enjoy this book very much for what it was, a good and efficient thriller and will continue to follow Helen Grace in her next adventure!
Melting pots of quotes, thoughts and just various ideas on how to improve your happiness. Not much to say about it. Not bad, There sure is some good in it, but most of it felt a bit psycho-pop and easy thinking. Not bad, but not that deep!
Fun like always. Starting with good action but overall more of a character/story development issue. I like it!
Batman (2016-) #89
Tomeu Morey, Tony S. Daniel, Carlo Pagulayan, James Tynion IV, Guillem March, Danny Miki
3,5/5. Good in the overall development of the series, but as a standalone it was lacking some stuff to make it truly entertaining!
So Marvel continue to add new series to the after House of X universe, which is beginning to be quite huge. Wolverine sure is a fine addition to the lot (I saw that Cable is coming too, so that's one I'm really excited about!!). Very strong start in this big issues, lot to consider in term of story and of course lot off bloody action like always with Logan. I'm in!
Not a very great story and worst of all very poor editing choice. The writing is so ridiculously small that it,s almost unreadable and if that wasn't enough, sometimes the writing appears on a gray part of the illustrations, making it even less readable, which of course make it less enjoyable. I get the way of thinking that it will most probably be an adult reading, but even if the child doesn't read, in a way of introducing him to read, it would have been better if he could actually see the words and letters well enough to start observing if not recognizing them! Failed!
Simple story of a young girl who live week days with her father and week-ends with her mother. Casual divorce story, but it was well done and I think it can be useful to explain divorce to a child, so he can see what is going to happen, how it will work and maybe make him feel more secure about all that, so in that way, this is a good book!
Another book by Jeffers, an author I have been discovering and really love! His book are fun, funny, marvelously illustrated and they just has that little something that make them stand out of the mass!
Better the the first Lies to Tell Small Kids. Just funny/stupid/dark/absurd humor but I like a lot!
