Another not-so-well know person that this collection put into the light. An interesting character, life and choice that can help people believe in their dream and not being afraid of doing what they like even if their parent, family or entourage find it weird or inappropriate! Not a big fan of the artwork here, but still a solid book. Like it!
Reading this book made me realize a lot of things that made the difference between a good self-publish/indi book and a good or even great novel. This book has some potential, it is well enough written, has good action, and a story worth your time. But that was the little things, but the accumulation of them, that make me loose interest in it. The writing is good but here and there there was bad word choice of idea (at some point the characters say the armor of someone he see «is» solid, how can he knows, it can «look» solid, but he can know if it is...). Same thing for the overall plot, not bad at all, but the lack of originality and being easy to see coming from start to finish make it loose some points... The characters and world building was, again, good, but the lack of details, of depth and morality issues make it... So I finish it thinking the author have potential but need more experience and maybe a better/harder editing staff behind him to see those littles things here and there and correct them before publishing.
Great not-so short stories collection here, four stories around 100-120 pages each. All of them explore a great and strange concept that is really fun to explore in a short story, because the concept is good but it wouldn't have done necessarily a great novel for lack of content. And that's exactly what make great fantasy/science-fiction short stories good, exploring weird ideas that can't be stretch into a full novel. The writing of Joe Hill also seem to have improve, or maybe it was because I read him in English for the first time... Anyway, I really enjoy this book and would recommend for the fans of weird fantastic novel/stories!
3,5/5. The art was absolutely amazing for this short series. Unfortunately this ending wasn't as good as I was hoping/expecting. It was good, but it wasn't great. Even a bit confusing, trying to hard maybe... I would love to have more often those kind of darker Batman series. A series worth it for sure, but... again... it could have been so much more...
Very good story/biography about the invention of the Popsicle. Entertaining and educative, it also contains small scientific experiment to do at home. Very good concept and perfectly executed!!
Simple and easy cartoons story that introduce big words to help kids expand their vocabulary. I like the idea of building vocabulary, but other then that, the cartoons were mildly funny with simple artwork. Good concept but very simple, almost «lazy», execution!
Weird story about a potato on a couch and how it affects the life of a family. Funny and absurd of course but nothing much to it, maybe some message about letting go... maybe I just imagine this one. Interesting, i guess...
Wow! Moi qui croyais que le premier tome était excellent. Une histoire absolument incroyable, des personnages puissants et des scènes de batailles à couper le souffle. Excellent livre et excellente série, j’espère que le troisième tome arrivera bientôt à ma librairie!!
Original book that combine a fun story with educative contents about the life of a plant. I read some book by this author (which I always seem to read in English when I should probably read her works in the original French edition...) and her book are always high quality works in every aspects. A young author that deserve attention and respect! Well done!!
More action based then the first two. Very good, the storyline and characters evolve at a good rhythm and I enjoy it overall!
