Like with every poetry book it is a hit or miss, this one miss. I do think that this might be a good way to introduce children to poetry, with easy and short poem, but other than that... not much to it.
I like the message in this one. A good way to teach your kids the thin line between confidence and over-confidence. It also shows how you can use your talent to help others develop theirs. He message put aside, the story and the illustrations are a bit «average», they lack the little something to put the wow effect in the book, but the message make it worth it nonetheless.
Cute story but can’t say I enjoy it, nothing really new and I didn’t like the illustration style. Wasn’t for me!
In this SEN Superpowers collection, the authors try to positively present special needs students. The subject can’t be closer to be, having dedicated my professional life to those kids with special needs, but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book, or the other I read from this collection. I find the magical thinking behind it looking like it came out from a fairytale and I didn’t find the representation (positive and negative aspects of it) done or explain well. I wouldn’t recommend that book!
Nope! Another book that want to present the beauty of the world but without picture, just illustrations, which for me is almost always a fail. It did present a good variety of landscape and habitat with the animals living in those areas, but the content and the presentation fell cheap and amateur.
This book does a good job presenting the evolution of mankind. Starting from the early beginning, even start with a brief intro that goes back before us, and then follow our path through time and evolution. Easy to understand for kid without letting it became easy or childish, this book provides good information and is well adapted for its public. Good job!
Good encyclopedia kind of book about dinosaur, their era, different kind of dinosaurs, their evolution, their extinction, etc. Well done, actual, complete and easy to get into. Perfect for the young ones who wants to learn about dinosaurs.
After Abandoned Palaces and Paris, two visual guides I enjoy, here is Abandoned Sacred Places. Again, good quality pictures, some description/info, and a trip around the world to discover strange sacred places. It’s a visual guide so the picture are dominant over the info, I might have enjoy a bit more info on those places, but you can always get the name of it and then continue your research on the Internet or others books if you like. Well done!
I find this book boring from start to finish. Can’t say it was badly written or anything, but just an intriguing premise that didn’t deliver anything...
