At first this story/series started really good. It has intriguing world mixing both science and magic, and also reality, the character were a bit clichés but nothing too bad and the illustrations were good. But then you realize the storyline doesn't really go nowhere, the humor seem force, too light, too easy, well not funny and the characters just goes from casual teens to super-heroes really quick and way too easily. So a very interesting concept/idea, but the execution has some flaws that just downgrade my fun reading it... Too bad! (Still not bad but it could have been way better!!)

Take an easy enough to understand concept, like hope, and make a tons of allegory and metaphor to try to explain it. I don,t see the point, the explication are unnecessary and everything doesn't bring any helpful thinking or comprehension. You end up with conclusion like, good thinking can help you, but you also have to put the effort to achieve something... Yeah that was helpful! Seriously not worth it! Read the definition of hope in a dictionary if you're unsure what it mean and you gonna be alright don't worry!

2,5/5. Intriguing concept but wasn't for me. The rhythm was perfect, it was fast paced like I like in comic but the transition from normal world to going into Hell to help her brother and then back to reality and all just seem force and I didn't like it or see the point to it. Not a bad one, but not much in this one for me.

Not good. The lack of originality just destroy this one. There is nothing new here and kind of a horror/crime/cops story that isn't gripping at all. The characters are some of the flattest I have seen in a long time in a comic or novel! Nope!!

Lecture très décevante. J'aime beaucoup le concept pré-apocalyptique, que l'on ne voit pas si souvent en littérature, mais dans ce livre, à l'exception de l'idée de départ, tout est assez ordinaire. Les personnages ne sont pas du tout accrocheur. L'écriture est correcte, sans prétention, mais u peu terne quand même, mais c,est l'absence d,ambiance qui fait le plus mal. On ne ressent pas la proximité de la fin du monde, l'urgence, l'émotion, etc. Les personnages sont presque uniquement en vase clos, ils rencontrent bien quelques personnes extérieures à leur groupe, mais tout de même assez peu considérant que techniquement la fin du monde n'est pas encore arrivé et que tout le monde converge plus ou moins dans leur direction. Où sont-ils tous alors? Trop banal pour être intéressant malheureusement.

Si c'est le concept qui vous accroche lisez plutôt : Les Coureurs de la fin du monde
by Adrian J. Walker, ou bien, Dernier meurtre avant la fin du monde by Ben H. Winters, ce dernier est le premier d'une trilogie. C'est deux romans sont dans la même lignée, mais mieux réussis à mon avis!

3,5/5. Récit très très fragmentée. On y retrouve la plume magnifique de Christian Bobin, ce qui donne de beaux passages et de belles réflexions, le tout enveloppé de sa mélancolie habituelle, mais j'ai trouvé que cela était bien trop fragmenté en terme de trame narrative, tellement qu'on la perd pratiquement. Le tout se lit finalement plus comme une série de réflexions philosophiques, de poèmes, mais moins comme un récit. Selon vos préférences littéraires la forme pourrait vous plaire ou profondément vous déplaire. Pour ma part, la beauté de l'écriture et la pensée de Bobin ont sauvé le tout, mais cela n'en fait certainement pas son meilleur livre.

Very good little book to discover scientist from our history. Well summarize, with illustrations and kind of graphical presentation. Easy to understand and perfect for kids to learn about those scientist but also to learn who invented, and where it came from, some of the concept or theories they learn in school. Well done!

2,5/5. Beaucoup d'attente en raison de la notoriété de Tom Hanks, malheureusement, mes attentes sont loin d'être comblées. Des nouvelles où il ne se passe presque rien, qui manque de profondeur et qui sont très banales. Bien écrites, point positif à souligner, le ton est juste, mais j'aime mes nouvelles percutantes, alors qu'ici, rien de percutant, plutôt une synthèse de roman. Ces nouvelles auraient gagné, à mon avis, à être développé davantage, pour qu'elles deviennent des romans. Ajouté du corps au récit, de la profondeur aux personnages et surtout à leur psychologie et on aurait pu avoir quelque chose d'intéressant, car le squelette tient la route, mais publier un squelette...

Awesome read in a special over sized issue!! The story is taking form and it's looking really interesting. I also like the illustrations style and the two-side story concept in this one was also great! Love it!!

Wow! This was something! Original, weird story, mixed of two illustrations style and an unique world. This is a great discovery and I’m really glad to pick this one up. If you like strange and original comic book you should definitely try this one!!
