3,5/5. Well vulgarized and illustrated book about evolution (not really focus on whale like the title makes us think but anyway). It also present a lot of prehistoric creature. A good introduction to the subject for young reader, around 8-9 years old maybe!

Always good, fun, entertaining and a solid story that keep us on a crazy ride along side Vader! I love every second of it!

God did I hate Sibby. Worst kid character of all time. Not that she isn’t really well done, that was alright, it just her personality that I found irritating. The story was too light for me, there is way too much useless dialogue and the writing style can of try to imitate real life talking or thinking. And this kind of writing is just a bad example to show to kid who learns to read and write, in my very personal opinion. I also found some sentences that just make any sense and look like the author was trying to stretch her book or her story. Here is an example, at some point Sibby says: «... I was thinking for myself.» Who the hell thinking for someone else then themselves, that the, meaning of thinking, something you do in your head for yourself. Anyway, if you read that far, you probably already get that I didn’t like this book!

A wordless comic book about dinosaurs going around with their lives. There’s no really story here, more or less just dinosaurs eating and attacking each other. The illustrations were great, but I had trouble finding who the author/illustrator intend to be the readers of this book, because being wordless and basically no story you think about a younger public, but there’s scene that are kind of gore and may not be suitable for kids. So who will or should read it... I’m not sure. Did I enjoy it, yes but would not really recommend it because of its lack of story.

Interesting book about, like the title says, God and Heroes from different mythologies. What is good about this one, is the fact that it present a big variety of culture and doing so we learn and explore others mythologies then the well know Greek and Norse (so popular in recent years). It's for kids, so it's a overview of everything, we don't get really deep in any of those, but it allows you to explore and if something pick your curiosity you can always search for another book, or on the Internet, for more information about it! I'm not an expert on mythology so I can't say if the information are accurate but I will put my faith in the editor for this one... and I withdraw one star because the alphabetical order is not the perfect way to organize this book in my opinion, I would have prefer it organized by culture (Greek, Japanese, etc.) and then put and alphabetical index at the end, so it will also be easy to search in by alphabetical order, maybe more of a personal preference but I think it will have been easier to explore!

I had I hope for this new series of X-Men and I wasn't disappointed at all. Very good one with a good story and lot of action as well. A bit «teeny» in the style of some characters and illustrations, but still beautiful and I like the mix between more adult characters (mostly the old X-Men from my time) and the new one that are obviously younger. Looking forward the next one!

I’m always unsure when reading a book explaining how to write or be publish by a writer you doesn’t look very famous. I’m fine with Stephen King telling me how to write, he obviously knows what he is talking about, but that’s not the case for everyone. This book surprises me in a good way. It present the basic of the YA mechanics and how to observe it, learn it and use it, and it does it very well. Some of those elements can even be use in others genre and still be relevant. My only problem with it is that when you start to approach writing like it is a recipes, it can become very unoriginal and look very fake. So yeah the basic and the canvas of it all can help new or wannabe writers but they have to keep in mind that using it in a very mechanical way, won’t work. Writing is creative, it’s art, and when using mechanical skill, you still need to put some of you, some style and some sensitivity to it if you want it too become something more than a generic story about generic characters. (Says the guy who never written anything good... but sure has read a lot!)

2,5/5. A short stories collection book that I never really was able to get into. Like every short stories book, there're some better then other, but overall not so many were really interesting to me. They are all from various author as well so the style change for each one, which isn't positive or negative, it just is. There are also haiku and illustrations, both don't bring something more, they are there. Not that bad, the stories are readable and offer a small entertainment, but they're just too ordinary to worth it, in my very personal opinion!

Owl talking about God... I will let you be the judge of that. But for me it's completely nonsense and not even deep enough to make it worth it.
