Ce livre n'est pas le plus percutant écrit par Biz. Cependant, il offre une réflexion et une observation de plusieurs éléments de la société; le déclin de la ville de Détroit, les relations Américains avec les Canadiens français/Québécois et les peuples autochtones, l'identité, etc. Il y a égalements plusieurs éléments historiques fort intéressants et instructifs. Le tout avec une trame de fond semi dramatique avec l'histoire personnel du personnage principal. Assez différent de ses précédents romans, mais un livre qui mérite amplement le temps qu'il prend à lire!

J'ai découvert Matthieu Simard avec Ça sent la coupe, roman intéressant, mais un peu léger pour en faire quelque chose de vraiment exceptionnel. Puis, j'ai lu Ici, ailleurs et j'ai su que cet auteur avait quelque chose d'unique et un avenir fort intéressant. Il réussit à nouveau à m'emballer avec Les écrivements. Un roman profond, touchant, très très sensible, d'une grande beauté tant narrative que littéraire. Un roman magnifique qui m'a profondément marqué. Matthieu Simard vient de rejoindre mon panthéon québécois (en compagnie de Biz, Dany Laferrière, Patrick Senécal et Gilles Archambault). À lire!!

The drawing style was good enough, but the story, even though it look promising at first, just felt into a too slow/nothing really happen kind of story. It's too bad because I really want to enjoy this one but I didn't! Not that it's necessarily bad, some people would probably enjoy, but it wasn't for me!

Beautiful book about sleep and dream. Between an adventure and helping kids understand sleep and not being afraid by going to bed, this book does a very good job opening a dialog, being funny and a good read at the same time. Very well done!

Another good book from the In Focus series/collection. This book presented everything you need to know about essential oils. From their history, to how they are made, their many types and how to used them for every need. Very well done, good organization and presentation. I didn't learn much because my girlfriend love and use a lot of those, but for someone who don't know much and want a good book to use has an introduction, this might be a good choice!!

Good, but really short story about Othello leaving home to become a summoner. Not necessarily but the Summoners series lovers should like it. I did!

2,5/5. Un roman policier générique. On applique une recette. Un résultats semi efficace, mais un travail d'auteur assez pauvre. Le résultat n'est pas mauvais, le tout demeure divertissant, mais trop peu original ou remarquable pour vraiment valoir la peine!

Cute and fun story about raccoons. Easy and light but entertaining! Not really my style of illustration. Simple but alright.
