I won't summarize the resume of the book (just read it...) but this is a cookbook of a restaurant mostly inspired by Tim Burton movies and general work. The recipes look delicious and the illustrations showing them look good. But... the «horror» or their «inspiration» are mostly in the name of the recipes. Lots of them could be name anything else, more casual, and it would be the exact same dishes... so a bit of a marketing «thing/fraud» here. I will say it again though, the recipes still look good and it's a decent cookbook. Just don,t expect something really crazy or unique here!

Absolument!

I never was a very big fan of Nightwing, but finding this issue for a fews bucks I decided to give it a try. The illustrations are very beautiful, dynamic, great colors and visually attractive. The story and the action on the other hand are a bit to «young» for me I would say. The action is less brutal, and the life story event are more teen/young adult related. Nightwing is an interesting character in relation with Batman, but on his own, it lack of a little something to catch me an keep me in. Not bad, just not for me!

Pumpkinhead is an old horror movie series, even if there were a bit cheap, there were entertaining enough and this book don't do them justice. The illustration are really not that good, the story is very light (I didn't really expect anything but still...) and the gore/action/horror scenes are not well put into place. Bad adaptation!

A book about those Bye-Bye moment between parents and young children. For those young ones this book can help explain/understand that going out doesn't mean abandoning and that they will come back eventually. Good but basic in most aspects!

Same kind than the Bye-Bye I just reviewed. This one is better in the way it explain that a young kid will hurts himself and how his parents will take care of him and how. Simple and basic again, but I find it less repetitive and it have a better representation of the subject.

Beautiful book that may bring some hope to kids who are in a wheelchair. It present the illustrated story of a girls who is in a wheelchair and takes place in various activity in her own way. It can also be use to make others kids thing about what it is like to be in a wheelchair and how they can help those persons feel accept and be a part of social activity. Simple, but really well done and strong positive message! Love it!

2,5/5. And the award for the most over-hyped/disappointing book of the year goes to... The Last Magician!!
I really don't get all the excitement and the high ratings this book has on Goodreads (4,08/5 right now). It has some strong elements. The writing is solid and universe is quite interesting. But the characters... I just never ever felt something for them, I never care at all, and that's is a very bad point. Another one, nothing happen, this book is so slow, there is a plot from the start to finish but it could have been half has long and still get it right, there is too much scenes/adventures/mini-plot that just were not necessary. I already have the second one... (that is a good lesson for my compulsing book buying issue) so I will have a look, but I'm not really excited. And just let's be honest with a title like The Last Magician and that cover (the art is wonderful!!) you expect a lot from a book like that, something epic, and it just don't deliver. There is not enough magic in my taste and the magic system is not that well explain/put in place so...

Awesome book! Amazing realistic illustration and even if it presented a smaller variety of dinosaurs, compare to similar book, it provide a deeper presentation with good information, comparison of height, weight, teeth, and more with adult and children size. It also talks about speed, food, muscles, and so much more. One of the best dinosaurs book I have put my hand one in a while.

In the same collection that the previously reviewed Jurassic Giants, this book presents not only shark, but a variety of dinosaurs/prehistoric animals from the sea. A bit under the Jurassic Giants, because even if it presents some dinosaurs less knows by most people, it goes a bit less deep then the other one. We have some height/length comparison, but that about it, and mostly compare to the same big boat. Still a very interesting book, with gorgeous illustration, but I would have like it to goes with more comparison and more details on some of those big creatures.
