I just loved this series. The illustrations are beautiful in an intense way that really transposes the video game into a comic book. All the violence and action are also well transpose; there is a ton of it and that why I enjoy it. You don’t read or play Mortal Kombat for a deep and intense storyline. You enjoy this brand for the action, the violence and the characters.
Well that was good!! Yes this book suffers from what I call the second-book-in-a-trilogy-syndrome (where some part feels stretch and we seem to be doing time, waiting for the finale) and the first one was better, and the last one probably will be as well. But it’s still a very intense book. The universe created by the author is just awesome, the writing style is great and the characters are dark, violent, without mercy, but has a reader I loved them, and I will remember them for a very long time! This series will definitely be in my top fantasy, and top overall, reads of this year. An unique story and a very entertaining series. If you loved fantasy and want something refreshing, like a blood bath refreshing, you should have a look (and start with the first one of course!!!)
This book deserve a higher ratings then the 3,08 it have on Goodreads right now. First, it is marvelously illustrated. And the story is just beautiful. It's about a girl who received a letter and for the next page she thinks/dream of what the letter could be and dreaming about a different life, or a life changing invitation. One page, one dream. This make you think and could present an opportunity to talk with your kids about what is a good successful life and happiness. It also presented an idea of dreaming, thinking and creativity. A big awesome surprise discovery for me!! Loved it!!
This series is starting to slow down a little. This one was very slow. The ending was good, but that was the only point. Less psycholoical then the previous issues and we barely see the Hulk...
Great!!! Darker then usual Batman comic but God it was good. Darker in it's story, in it's characters, in it's writing and in it's illustrations, which are marvelous!! A little piece of art here!
4,5/5. This series is such a good one so far! Even if I was expecting a bit more from the story evolution in this one, the characters, illustrations and story are still very strong. The first one was better, but definitely a god one anyway and I will be looking into the next one during the nexts fews days!
A long and slow pace comic. The ending make it all worth it, because it's brutal and surprising, but if it wasn't for the last page this would have been a very bad one...
Easy cute story about going to sleep. The illustrations were beautiful but the story too easy going for my liking.
A book for young readers round 10 years old. The writing is very easy to read so young reader won't have trouble reading it. The story will probably kept those readers on the edge of their seats. The rhythm is good and it's fast pace, as an adult it's predictable, really soon you see where it goes and how it will end, there is also some part that doesn't seem really realistic. Kids probably won't see it coming so easily because they've seen/read less. The characters are well done, a bit «clichés» but not too much. So, two ratings here, has an adult this book is a fast read and not necessary, for kids I think that could be a good thriller that also make them think/talk about being careful and the abduction theme. So for adults 2/5, for kids 3,5/5. Since it's a kids books, I will go closer to the kids rating, and give it an overall of 3/5.
