This book was so beautiful. Charlie is one of the sweetest characters ive ever seen. There were so many lines in this book that i highlighted just because they resonated so much. The author was able to get across what it means to be a teen so so much. I got a bit confused at the end but i read some reviews and it all made sense. Would defintiely recommend checking trigger warnings as theres some really hard topics covered and the ending is really tough. But this book handled it so well and its definitely a new favourite.

I seriously can't tell whether i loved it or hated. Ive never been so conflicted about a book. I love morally grey characters and unreliable narrators and river is as morally grey and unreliable as you can get. I have so many opinions but no idea how to put into words... i wasnt keen on the writing style as it was super simple and it felt like the author was trying to be relateable and "act like a teenager" in a really unrealistic way. It read a little like fanfic and if it had been written by a different author with my preferred writing style it would have been a five star book!!
