There was just something about this book that I didn't care for. I am someone who needs to get into the characters to enjoy a book (or at least 1) and I didn't like any of the characters in this book...seriously - any of them.

It was ok...

There were a lot of baby and babes being thrown around in this book...by everyone. Normally this isn't a bad thing but I found it annoying.

Also, I found it odd that she would have sex with someone for 1.5 years but never ask his name. I get mystery but seriously...just no.

The characters were ok. I liked hearing some backstory on Cabe/Hawk. I found Gwen annoying...

I enjoyed this one...for whatever reason I just didn't get that "I can't stop reading" feeling on this one.

In this story Cassel is still trying to get along with his family, stay away from the con, finish school, and figure out what to do with Lila. I won't recap everything but there are added complications that come up that make these things tough to do.

I still like the characters - Cassel is resourceful and smart and his friendship with Sam and Daneca is good for him.

The story moves forward and despite the length of time it took me to get through this one, I am looking forward to see what happens in the next book just based on how things were left at the end of this one.

I would rate this anywhere from a 3-3.5 stars.
